General Discussion / Top boot front lifting on highway

So my top boot doesn't want to keep the front edge tucked in when I drive it on the highway, it starts lifting a little in the center and then after a while the hole leading edge by the rear seat is up in the air flapping - How were these supposed to be kept in place so they don't lift up and flap?  It's really tight around the well trim - hard to get the thing stretched enough to get the clips over it.  Suggestions?

Any ideas where to find a correct dipstick for a 69 TH350?   Can't seem to find this from any online vendors that look remotely original, only the tube. 

Restoration / Ground Strap Question

Is there a 4th ground strap used on V8 cars?  I'm looking at the picture in the lower right corner of UPC U63 A7 and for the life of me can't figure out where that is supposed to be on the car or if it applies just to 6 cyllinders or V8s as well. 

Restoration / Correct cowl hood relay screw

What's the correct cowl hood relay screw and where can I get one?  Just got done cleaning up my original relay, would like to mount it with the correct screw now.  I see the part number 9415191 in the AIM but can't find anyone that carries one. 

Originality / Trunk Mat cut for Spare tire hold down

Does anyone have a survivor picture of the way a trunk mat is supposed to be cut for the spare tire hold down bracket welded to the floor of the trunk?  I have a convertible but am guessing a coupe would be cut the same way.

I've seen a few venders that advertise rear speaker enclosures that are exact reproductions of the originals for a 69 Camaro convertible but no idea where they would installl - any pictures or descriptions where they are supposed to be installed and how would be appreciated.

Where does the yellow manual top sticker go on a 1969 convertible?  I think it's on the convertible frame but not sure where? 

Restoration / Cowl Flapper harness tape

Decided to replace my original harness (has a splice in it and a couple broken wires at the plugs) with one from AAW - started on it today and noticed the one from AAW has cloth electrical tape, and the one I am replacing has the thin plastic type tape on it - I'm guessing the one I am replacing is correct? 

If so I guess I retape the one from AAW.   Everything else about th harness appears to be an exact match except the electrical tape.

Originality / Battery Cables 69 Pace Car

What are the correct battery cable numbers for a 2D Pace Car 350/300?  I know they are top mount spring clips, and I'm looking at some but the descriptions from the vendor isn't as specfic as I need to be sure.  Last 2 letters BK, AN, ZM, BH etc is what I am looking for - both pos and neg cables.  Thanks!

Restoration / A Frame Splash Apron - tucked or not?

Took my car to a cruise night last night and while walking around looking at other people's cars I noticed 100 % of the Gen1 Camaros had the T on the A Frame splash apron laying on top of the A Frames and not tucked in the center hole in the A Frame - Always thought they were supposed to be tucked in the hole. Which way is correct?

I assume the firewall splash guard on AIM UPC11/13 B2 applies to all 69s including automatics and not just the stick shift cars?   Is the puprpose just to keep debris off the firewall and speedometer cable?     Anyone know of a place to get one or a template to make one?  I need a clip 3921872 for the flap as well.   

Restoration / Wrestling with inner fender splash flaps

Done wrestling with this for the day and looking for suggestions to fasten the inner fender splash flaps.  There has to be a better way than fighting the staples that came with the soffseal kit.   I was thinking of getting some .041 stainless safety wire instead of trying to get these staples through the existing holes in the inner fender and getting them flattened decently, thinking the safety wire would be more maleable.   I haven't even started trying to get them to go through the flaps.  Any suggestions on how to do fasten these correctly?  The car is together and painted, don't want to scratch up the inner fenders putting them on.

1969 Camaro Pace car - what's the correct original wire harness routing - under or over the wiper motor?  Also, are all the looms (cowl flapper, coil, starter etc) bundled and taped together at that point or are they separate?

Does the well liner for a 69 convertible go over or under the clamping frame that runs around the quarters and below the rear window?  With it below the clamping frame you can see the frame and fasteners.  Going over the frame it hides the frame and fasteners.
