« on: April 10, 2019, 08:23:20 PM »
This engine was taken out of a 68 Z over 20 years ago. This is a service dated 1969 engine but has a ssy date with a MO code on it. I was wondering if any one has ever seen a CE engine with a assy date and code?

Originality / early 69 Camaro ss rim finish
« on: December 31, 2018, 01:09:03 AM »
I imagine the front should be like a Chevelle silver and dark grey but the inside of the rim when the tire is off is a sand stone color. My question is I always thought the back side of a SS rim should be grey. Should the back side be the same color as the inside of the rim.

General Discussion / My convertible gets its correct interior
« on: December 19, 2018, 03:53:33 PM »
I was tired of looking at the wrong interior in my convertible especially since houndstooth was never available in a conv (except the pace car). My car according to the trim tag  came with black comfort weave when new. When recovering the seats we found the last person who recovered it put the covers over the original seats. It was hard to believe since the covers we took off fit real nice . What a difference how much nicer it looks with the new covers

Originality / trunk lid id
« on: November 07, 2017, 03:26:58 PM »
This trunk lid has no tabs on the bottom side but has the date on the bottom support and no extra hole like a service replacement. Its very difficult to read the date code. Any one know what time frame it is from?

Decoding/Numbers / Muncie assy date versus vin
« on: August 17, 2017, 02:37:15 AM »
Working on a corvette that has a Muncie and a 12 bolt rear end. The Muncie build date is P9A but the vin number is a 672 number sure seems to far apart but definetly not a restamp. It also has a BV rear end.

Decoding/Numbers / Norwood body numbers
« on: July 11, 2017, 11:34:15 PM »
I was looking at two Norwood trim tags today both 11D 68 built cars the vin numbers were 500 apart but the body number were 8000 apart is that normal to be that far apart?

Can anyone identify if these are real or repop. I believe they have been in the car for at least 20 years.

Decoding/Numbers / Engine assembly date
« on: March 22, 2017, 12:41:22 AM »
I have a big block engine where the 840 head casting dates are 6 days before the build date of the engine. That seems close to the build date any body else seen some thing similar

« on: December 30, 2016, 10:24:34 PM »
My car is a hugger orange 69 Camaro built 11D 68. I was checking the date code on the SS hood and it looks to be 25 that seems to be pretty early any body keep track of these date. This hood looks to have always been hugger orange.  Thanks
