General Discussion / fan blade in relation to shrowd

Where should the fan blade sit in relation to the shrowd. mine is 1/3 fan exposed past the shrowd and balance inside shrowd. I'm having a over heating problem and the fan doesn't seem to be pulling a lot of air through radiator. Radiator is like new with no blockage, thermofan seems a little loose when temp is up and maybe not driving the fan properly. going to try and run the fan without thermofan but I think I should put a spacer on th fan shaft to get blade inside shroud further.

Hi all, Planning to fire up my fresh rebuilt 302 in a few days(have other things to do first) and I would like some feedback on how long to let it run, what rpm etc. I will prime the oil pump first, pan filled with royal purple 5w30, topped off with amsoil assembly lube. Set the valves @ 24 cold, it's has the comp cam 30/30 grind. heard both settings 24 & 30 lash? Using super hi test gas. Engine put together with original 68 crank, pink rods, J&E pistons new valves & sprins basically upgrading the 302. block bored to 40 over was 30 over before. I'll try and answer any questions.

Hello all, revisiting old forums on the subject of whel trim rings. I did a search and read all the replies. But NO definitive answer as too clip design. I have a 04A 68 z/28 with upside down DF code and 15 x 6 wheels. I'm pretty sure that these wheels had the 4 clip design. I don't have any originals but have purchased a couple of these and I am looking for about 3 or 4 more. They are pretty hard to find unless you want to pay the price. I do have the original spare but didn't check to where the scrape marks were, inside or rim edge prior to refinishing it, which is one way to tell what rings came on the car originally.

Searching the web I found there are plenty of corvette trim rings but they are different than Camaro rings ie; round or oval valve stem holes vs open slotted camaro ones. Also a lot of 15x7,8 sized ones. can anyone tell me if the 15x7 trim rins will fit on 15x6 rims? Also a heads up on anyone knowing someone that is possibly selling the trim rings?

HELLO ALL, CAN SOMEONE POST A LIST OF WHAT TYPE HOSE CLAMPS ARE USED ON THE VARIOUS HOSES ON A 1968 04A BUILT Z/28 CAMARO? I HEAR ONE THING THEN I SEE [PICTURES ON THE NET OF Z/28 FOR SALE AND PICTURES OF THE ENGINE BAY AND THEY ARE DIFFERENT??????

Hello again, I'm replacing the fuel line, tank to pump, in my 68 z/28. Is that a one piece or two and 5/16? I was told that it was a two piece but I can't fine a two piece line on the net?

Hello, I just replace the power booster on my 68 Z and I want to remove the vacume connector and replace it with the born with connector and before I get to aggressive trying to remove it, I need some help in 'how to' do it.

Dug out my 1100814 alternator and started to wire brush it to clean it up, ns noticed that front half has a crack in it. I know it can be restored with a new part BUT the front half has the stampings on it. And don't want to lose that.
Any suggestions on repairs.

I'm in the process of 'dressing up my newly self rebuilt 68 302 and I would like to know what type of hose clamps go where, any help would be appreciated, can't rely on the internet except for CRG.

General Discussion / upper water pump pully.

I recently purchased a new 2 grove upper pully for my 1968 z/28 302 motor part # 3770245, and when I put it on the back side rubs the water pump #3859326 and the pully groves don't match up. The pully needs to come forward about 1/8" - 3/16". does anyone make spacers for this problem? I suppose I could fabricate something out of 1/8" or 3/16" steel plate.
