Maintenance / fuel tank leak?
« on: April 19, 2016, 06:00:35 PM »
Good Day Everyone,
When I installed my new gas tank, ('69 Camaro), I noticed the fuel pick up easily moved back and forth about four inches as I was putting the straps up.
My question is where the pick up tube goes through the plate that goes over the rubber seal, does that tube have an O-ring on it that pulls up into that plate?  If the tube moved without that plate moving , does that mean a seal was broken? and what would be a good way to fix ? Solder or epoxy?
thank you all, Ron

1969 Camaro 12 bolt, 4.10 Richmond gears
I have been back and forth on pinion shims and can't seem to get both the drive side and the coast side patterns perfect.
Drive side can be good and coast side will be off or the other way around. I need opinions.
First pictures, .037 on pinion and .010 BL

Restoration / am/fm radio repair
« on: September 22, 2013, 04:13:08 AM »
My question is: Is there a reliable person to send an original '69 am/fm radio to for repair?
The tuning knob shaft has a little bend in it and the tuning needle sticks.
I did a search and everything on radios is somewhat old.

Restoration / Original 1968 heater blower motor
« on: November 04, 2012, 06:38:28 AM »
I need advice.
I was going to just buy a new heater blower motor when I noticed the date on the one I took out.  It was dated the same month as the car.  Now I am torn.
question one:  Should I keep the blower I have and just put it in the basement and buy a new one or have the old one rebuilt?
question two: Who in the world rebuilds blower motors? Mine is somewhat tight.  It turns but it is tight.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Ron

Decoding/Numbers / Voltage regulator 8J
« on: October 13, 2010, 06:14:06 AM »
Hi. Question for all. I have a 11D 69 that had a 8J 515 voltage reg on it. could that possibly be the original or is that just to early to be possible? Or given the fact that electrical parts went bad all the time was it probably a junkyard replacement.

Originality / '69 fold down rear seat
« on: July 28, 2010, 06:47:19 AM »
I need the screws that hold the fold down rear seat back frame to the upholstery frame. I can't find any information on finish and size of the screws.  The seat is at the upholstery shop so I can't get a look at what size I need. Can anyone help me out?  Thanks, Ron :-\
