« on: April 17, 2011, 05:53:22 PM »
Rebuilding my 69 DZ and was wondering on the cam issue, I want more lope than the 30-30 cam that was original, is there any issues I need to be aware of before I buy a cam, I do not know much about the mechanical side of rebuilding and changing cams, if I go with a more lope cam do I need to change carburation, dist, curve and there a limit to which cam I can go with  Joe

« on: March 01, 2011, 06:22:58 PM »
Would a 0421DZ stamped block be OK for a 6A car, it is a 654xxx vin which derives to first couple days in June so this stamp would be a little less than 6 weeks, is this acceptable Joe

Originality / 010 Block Date code
« on: February 21, 2011, 07:17:09 PM »
HAs anyway run into a 010 Block that does not have a casting date on it, I mean it is not there, I have removed the hood and got on top of the engine and used the best lightening, and believe me with that scenarion I would not miss it and it is not there, behind the flange on the right side behind the head, 2 little screw indentations to hold the plate onto the form, I know what I am looking for and I tell you it is not there, there is no grinding in the area at all either, just the regular rought texture you would expect, I am thinking as in some of the quality control that went on that at the start of shift someone forgot to screw the date plate on for the date casting and it went unnoticed for a little bit   weird   Joe ???

« on: August 17, 2009, 02:44:27 PM »
Bought a NOS 69 Z28 Front Grill emblem and I am curious about the black paint outlining the emblem, there is none, the emblem I took off had black outlining paint, the new NOS one did not, any thoughts if this is authentic or a repo sold as NOS   Joe
