Restoration / Convertible top boot
« on: May 11, 2009, 05:22:00 PM »
Any one have any recommendations on where to get a GOOD top boot for my 69? One that acutally fits correctly,  has the snaps in the right place and tucks in nicely.

Any and all replies are appreciated.

General Discussion / 1969 to 2010

Look what I ran across today while out for a cruise!  A 2010 Camaro SS. You should have seen the crowd around these two cars. This new Camaro is far better in person than in photos. It is really really cool!!

Hopefully the photo is here. I've never had any luck getting one to work with thisi web site.

Restoration / Fuel filter clamp, L48
« on: April 13, 2009, 03:56:39 AM »
Does anyone have a photo of the fuel filter clamp attachment? I can't find any information on how the fuel filter clamp attaches to the intake manifold anywhere including the assembly manual. There is no reference to the L48 fuel lines in the AM. Kind of driving me nuts. Any photos of a PROPERLY restored L48, or of course original, (SS350) engine compartment would be great.

Restoration / Brake rebuilders
« on: February 10, 2009, 03:45:43 AM »
Hello again! Can anyone recommend someone good to send my original master cylinder and power brake booster to for rebuilding/replating. I want to make sure I get the ones I send in back and not a replacement as they are original to the car. I also would like the master cylinder sleeved with stainless. Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Can anyone recommend a good place to send my 69 head rests to be recovered properly? I know I've heard of someone but I don't have a name and address. Thanks.

General Discussion / Trim tags on Ebay
« on: January 24, 2009, 01:00:03 PM »
Has anyone else seen this auction?  This is hard to believe. Look at the photo with the "bucket" load of trim tags this dude has. I don't know about anyone else but this should be illegal. Things like this just creates more skepticisim in the Camaro world. I wish I had the $$$ to buy them all, record them and then destroy them.  >:( >:( >:(

Decoding/Numbers / Engine Enigma
« on: January 21, 2009, 03:16:38 AM »
Can anyone explain why there would be no partial vin stamping on my 69 350/300. There is clearly none on the front pad and the pad by the oil filter is far to rough cast to accept any type of stamping. I've done everything to the stamping pad by the oil filter to clean and check it out and there is no way there is a number stamped there. Is it possible to not have a partial vin stamped in the block? Everything else seems to line up. C79 casting date, 3932388 casting number T0425HA front pad stamping. 05A build date. Any opinions?  I would love to attach a photo but I can't get it to work, keep getting an error for upload. ??

Decoding/Numbers / voltage regulator
« on: January 20, 2009, 02:39:16 AM »
Anyone know how to decipher voltage regulator date codes?   How about 3F. I'm guessing 6th week of March 69 seeing as March 69 had 6 weeks. It's from my 69 pace car with an 05A build date.
