« on: April 25, 2010, 03:02:35 PM »
Hello. Are the inner A/C boxes the same for a 68 or 69 Camaro? I know the 67 has a different shape but don't know about the 68 and 69.

Restoration / Period correct engine value?
« on: November 30, 2009, 05:39:45 PM »
Hello. I want to bring my 68 rs/ss back as close to period correct as I can since I do not have the original engine or transmission. My car was a L48 auto car to start with and I would like to get it back to that state. I have found a couple of "MU" blocks that will need sleeves due to cylinder bore sizes, pitting, etc. I guess my question is, is it really worth it for me to get the "correct" engine block with the correct stampings or just get a 010 block and stick "291" heads on it and enjoy the car. I plan on keeping my car and enjoying it but would like to get it as close to original as I can. What would you do? How much would the car's value increase with a "MU" engine?

Thanks

« on: October 15, 2009, 02:36:56 PM »
Hello. Do the inner ac/heater boxes interchange on a 67-68 Camaro? I have a 68 that i need the inner box for and found one off of a 67 but i'm not sure that will work on my 68. My car is an original a/c car and I am trying to get it period correct.

Thanks as always.

Originality / A/C Stop lift brackets?
« on: March 16, 2009, 04:57:24 PM »
Is there such a thing as an A/C engine stop lift bracket? They kinda look like a rocker arm with a bolt through them and cable in a loop on one end. I saw an ad for some that claimed they were for 67-9 Camaros with A/C.

Thanks

Originality / Only one dist. for a 68 SS350?
« on: February 12, 2009, 02:23:16 PM »
Hello. Is there only one distributor # that came out on the 68 ss 350? I believe the books show a 111168 but I was speaking to a person who restores them (dist.) and he told me he has never seen a 168 distributor with dates on it that would match up to a SS 350 Camaro built in 68. Is this correct? What other # dist. came out on a 68 SS 350?

Thanks

Restoration / Correct Air Cleaner Assembly for my 68 rs/ss 350?
« on: December 28, 2008, 09:03:19 PM »
Hello. I need to find a air cleaner assembly for my 68 rs/ss 350/auto. Did other vehicles come with the same assembly? What could I use that would be correct for my car? I believe the top lid should be chrome but if I could find one from another vehicle I could have the top chromed.

Thanks

Restoration / Technically Correct Powerglide.
« on: December 03, 2008, 02:07:58 AM »
I would like to get my 68 rs/ss 350/glide Camaro back as close to period correct as possible. When I bought it back in 84 it did not have the original engine or trans in it. I am in the process of buying pieces here and there to get it back to it's original condition. What should I look for in a powerglide trans as far as dates and so forth? What would be considered correct for my car? It was built in the 3rd week of February. I don't know if it makes a difference but the car has a/c,pb (drum),ps.

Thanks as always.
