Maintenance / Noise from transmission after dyno-test
« on: April 28, 2012, 01:15:41 PM »
Dear forum,

After a dynotest with engine adjustment and afterward an output test, i have unfortuately got an ugly noise from the gearbox or converter. The noise is only there, when the engine is pulling (when the car drives). It sounds a bit like a piece of sheetmetal hitting every second spoke in a bicyclewheel...

I did check the flexplate, and there are no cracks or missing parts- or parts hitting each other...

There aren't any other problems, the tranny (th 350 standard gearbox) is, apart from this noise, working perfectly, and the engine is pulling allrigth..

Anyone with a good idea to the cause?

Best regards

Restoration / Colour codes in the wiring diagramme- 69 Camaro
« on: March 31, 2012, 04:03:49 PM »
Hi,

can anyone supply me with the colors of the wires in the diagramme (i purchased the wiring diagramme book "Jim Osborn-version")- can only see the abbreviations, and iīm appearntly not sharp enough to figure out the color of the wire, only from the abbreviation.

And what about the wiresizes? I have got numbers from 6 to 20...
From the battery i have "14R", "6B", "12B" and so on...

These are the abbreviations, please correct me, if wrong:
B (Black), R (Red), W (White), BRN (Brown), OR (Orange), DG (DarkGreen), LG (LigthGreen), DBL (DarkBlue), LBL (LigthBlue), Y (Yellow),

BUT what is "T", "P/B", and "W-OR/PPL TR" ?

Thx in advance,
Jesper, Denmark
Can the wirenumbers be decoded into ex. Milimeters?

Restoration / Restoring seats with new foam
« on: February 10, 2008, 04:38:47 PM »
Hi there,

anyone who has a good tip, how to install new seat foaming on both buckets?

I took the drivers seat apart yesterday, and i am replacing the foam and the cover. Will it be nessecary to re-use the old "fine" treadings, crossing the spring package, when using an aftermarket-foam (from NPD) ?

Or can i directly hog the cover through the foam, on to the springs?

Anyone who has a good tip to some instructions on the internet, or maybe a handbook regarding this issue?

Looking forward to hear from you,

and with best regards from Denmark

Decoding/Numbers / Engine decode
« on: January 27, 2008, 04:13:51 PM »
Hi everyone,

can anybody help me decode my engine:

Cast number 3914678
Date code C58
Serial number 185414180 V 0307HP

On both heads: 549 and a "6"

The engine is probably a 302, 327 or 350. Iīve been told, that the engine should be a 327 from a 68īCorvette with 275 HP. Can anyone confirm this, and in case yes, how can this be documentated?

Thanks in advance, and with best regards
