Restoration / Steering knuckle bolts for 69 X55
« on: April 04, 2008, 09:59:53 PM »
I have a 69 X55 car, I re did the whole front end. I need to know what size the bolts have to be or what size I can use to replace the old ones. I ordered a set from Heartbeatcity and all 4 of them are the same size, I thought there was 2 shorter ones and 2 longer ones for the back. The passenger side back back does not even make it through the whole for the nut to go on. The new bolts are all the same size.

Can anyone lead me to the right bolts and nuts?

Thanks

Maintenance / Clutch pilot bearing removal
« on: March 30, 2008, 07:01:54 PM »
Does anyone have a better idea on how to get the clutch pilot bearing out. I have tried the tool that you hook the grease fitting and that didn't work, also tried the puller.  It still has the brass fitting in it. Can I use a drill to drill it out some. Anyone have a idea?

I have just put all new disc brakes and tie rods, idler arm, pitman and steering gear box on. Is there a special way to line all these pcs up? Can anyone lead me in the right direction. I have hooked everything up and one of the wheels is straight and the other is turned in. Does it all start with the steering box and pitman arm? Any help would be great.

Thanks
Tom

Decoding/Numbers / 69 Camaro SS 350 L48 Starter
« on: September 03, 2007, 02:06:26 AM »
Hello, I'm new to the camaro scene and need some help. I Have a 69 camaro SS X55  350/300 4 speed, it is a all matching numbers car, engine, tranny, rear end. My questions is I have a starter that I bought and want to know if it is correct for the car. The numbers on the starter are 1108338, 0A13 4. I do know it is for a 70'S car and Jan 13th, but what is the 4? Would this starter be to far past my build date on my car of March 5th of 69?

I also see alot of people sending in their car's info, what do I have to do to get mine in the data base?

Thanks
Tom
