General Discussion / palomino convertible
« on: March 07, 2010, 12:47:40 PM »
Just finished a full restoation on my ash gold L48 rs-ss and I was looking for another project as just a fun driver and came across a 68 convertible 327 that needs work. Well, I bought it. Turns out it had the original 327 and drivetrain, deluxe houndstooth, and the paint code was "T" palomino ivory. I know it was a rare color, yet alone bein in a drop top. Now I am at a crossroads of doing another full restoration to it or making it a toy. just wanted to get some opinions.
Thanks

Originality / heater hoses
« on: August 28, 2009, 12:55:52 AM »
Anyone know the correct original heater hose style for a 68 camaro?  I was told the ribbed but I thought they were only used for 69 and up. Or would either GM or ribbed style be acceptable?

Originality / std. to repo fenders
« on: August 10, 2009, 11:23:35 AM »
I have a set of 68 NOS GM fenders, or, as I beileve. How can you tell the difference from GM to the repos. When I bought these, he told me they were GM but the e-coat was stripped off on the inside, NO STICKER. He planed on stripping both sides but stopped after he did the inside. The hood hinge nuts are T style, they weigh 29 pounds without extensions, each inner frame support has a # stamped in it Right is: 38, Left is: 42. The stampings and folds are tight and crisp and they are not drilled for emblems yet. I am going to try to sell these and want to make sure they are what they are.

I have a early built 68 rs ss #'s matching l48 that I am finishing up, it originally came with manual brakes and I have the original master cyl., BUT, i have a original power booster and master cyl. from a camaro but one month late on date code. Getting ready to buy break lines and I am on the fence, I am going to show the car when done. Just wanted to see what you guys think.

Originality / rs rocker black out
« on: July 26, 2009, 01:25:15 PM »
I am getting ready to spray the black on my rockers.  I was wondering if the black wrapped around to the inside of the lower door or just to the flange? Any pics would be great.
