General Discussion / camaro nos fender
« on: November 16, 2008, 03:31:12 AM »
What is the basic way to tell a nos gm fender from a aftermarket. I am looking for a set of NOS fenders for a 67 camaro. I have contact with an individual who says he has a original gm fender for right side.  I am going tomorrow to look at it.  Looking for tell tale way to tell if it is GM.  thanks  Pete

Restoration / camaro markings

I have noticed that on some of the restorations, there is an orange stripe painted vertically across the frame on the drivers side just in front of the stablilzer bar.  What did this stand for, and in what part of assemble was this put on.  thanks  Pete

Restoration / 67 camaro master cylinder
« on: August 30, 2008, 02:07:40 AM »
I have a dilema, We are still attempting to finish up the breakes on this camaro.  We are on our third mastercylinder, the first two would not build pressure.  We have now received another one, but for some reason beyond my knowledge, the size of the ports are reversed.  On the first two the larger fitting was on the back and the smaller fitting was on the front.  The first two fit and plumbed up to the correct lines on the car. This new one the size of the fittings are reversed.  The casting no. is      5460346 with a wt code. Should be correct. Any info is needed.  thanks in advance  Pete

Restoration / Pressure relief valve
« on: June 22, 2008, 01:26:55 PM »
I was at GM Nationals at Carlisle yesterday and noticed that the round Pressure relief valve under the Master cylinder was different on the 67 camaro's than the 68-69 camaro's. Is there a difference or is this a aftermarket issue.  In all the parts catalogs, they list only one valve and state for the 67-69 camaro's.  What is correct for the 67 camaro, big block, drum/disc car.  Does anyone have the correct one for sale?   thanks Pete

Restoration / camaro brakes
« on: June 14, 2008, 09:57:45 PM »
Having trouble getting breaks on this 67 camaro. Got the back to bleed, but cannot get the front disc to bleed.  Have tried pumping also using a vacum pump. I read in the book that when bleeding,  the pressure valve directly under the master cylinder , you should depress the back side. Mine will not move. I noticied the intake side is wet, but the outlet is dry. I even attempted to apply air to see it will open. I was up to 80 psi and nothing.  What is the proper way to test and at what pressure?  Also, I bought a correct rebuilt "WT" code master cylinder. being my car is disc/drum, should there be check valves in the master cylinder and if so, on which end, front or back, or both.  Any help will be appreciated.  Pete

Restoration / spark wire loom
« on: May 31, 2008, 03:27:56 PM »
What is correct for a 67 camaro, 396/325 regarding the valve cover plug wire loom at the back on the drivers side.  Our new covers has the straight bracket on both covers, but the drivers side interferes with the wiper motor. As I understand, the wiper motor is also unique to the 67.  Was there a change for the 68/69 bb cars.  The assy manual shows a bracket further ahead on the drivers side.  I can't find that option in any of the parts catalogs.  thanks  Pete
