I have your Owner Protection Plan - POP - but it’s missing the metal plate. Most of the imprint is visible on the last page.

We had a problem recently of not being able to upload pics to the forum posts. That has been fixed.

The pics on the front page were updated.

Thanks for your patience.

Research Topics & Reports / Pics to finish up the hood report
« on: January 12, 2024, 06:47:37 PM »
We need the following pics to finish up the hood report

1.  Underside pic of a late 1969 model year SS hood without the underhood insulation attached.
2.  Top side of a 67 SS hood without the louvers in place. We need to show that there were no drain holes.
3.  Original hood side rubber "bumpers" for 1967 and for 1968-1969.  There are 2 styles.
4.  Original underhood insulation pics for all 3 years and all types. These will be hard to come by for all applications but at least a few would be good to show.
5.  A side by side picture comparison of an original hood insulation clip and a reproduction clip.

You can post the pics here and then if they will be used and I need larger sizes or your photo credit information I will contact you.

Thanks in advance.

1969 - Orphans / 9N601322 L35 block
« on: December 29, 2023, 05:29:27 PM »
I have an L35 block with partial VIN down by the oil filter that appears to be from 19N601322. Needs 1 sleeve.

I am pretty sure the whole VIN is 124379N601322 - it is most likely a hard top car.

General Discussion / Homepage Pics - new post
« on: December 27, 2023, 07:41:29 PM »
For years Steve would collect photos and send to me, then I would pick different ones for the ones on the homepage. We use a 67, 68 and 69. I don’t change these as often as I used to. When I was getting frequent submissions I would change every 1 or 2 months.

If you would like to submit a pic for possible inclusion on the homepage, post one in this thread.

Guidelines.

1. Car only, no people.

2. Try to get a side shot or angled. Not direct front or rear pics.

3. Do not crop the image. I will do that. If the image is not high enough resolution I will email you and ask for a full size pic.

I already have a new 69 pic.

Thanks in advance.

Research Topics & Reports / Under hood light pics
« on: November 28, 2023, 06:15:40 PM »
There were optional hood lights for all 3 years.

For the hood report, still in progress, we need some original under hood light detailed photos. If possible try to show the back part of the hood and the light, plus close up pics of the light.

Thanks in advance.

Research Topics & Reports / Original cowl hood photos needed
« on: October 16, 2023, 03:31:17 PM »
We need pics of original cowl hoods without the underhood insulation attached.

William has identified an two types, an early design and a second design. The changes are to the under structure.

If you can post good clear pics or send directly to me, we would appreciate it. The front half of the hood is the most important to highlight.

Thanks in advance. It is very hard to find good clear pics.

General Discussion / Texting, written messages and miscommunication
« on: October 09, 2023, 03:08:52 PM »
We all know that it is WAY different to communicate with someone via text or written messages such as in this forum or in emails.  Here is an interesting short article to read.

https://www.scribendi.com/academy/articles/miscommunication_and_texting.en.html

And one of the most important parts is this

Because text messaging cannot accurately convey tone, emotion, facial expressions, gestures, body language, eye contact, oral speech, or face-to-face conversation, it is likely messages will be misinterpreted or misunderstood. The real meaning of your message gets lost through the medium.

Please don't automatically assume that someone means to be negative or condescending, it may just be miscommunication.

6-cylinder Camaros / L6 cylinder head data for a new report
« on: July 03, 2023, 01:13:35 PM »
I am working on a report for 67-69 Camaro cylinder head usage. I have the SBC and BBC numbers pretty much done, but I am struggling a bit with the L6 heads.

I assume that the 230 and 250 engines used the same head and probably the same casting number all 3 years, but can any of you verify?

Include
1. The head casting number
2. The casting date
3. Year of the engine.

Thanks in advance. If you photos are used, you will be giving credit.
