Thank You for any ideas

General Discussion / Bonus Weekend
« on: November 09, 2009, 06:20:11 PM »
Wow! It was nearly 70 degrees here in southern Wisconsin this weekend. And... since I had not yet put the ol' 68 Convert to bed for the winter, the top went down & away we went for a short cruise.
In the 15 years that I've had my '68, I can't remember ever being able to do that in November. One in the record books for me.
Keeping my fingers crossed. I'd like to do it again in December!!!

Site Comments/Discussion / Picture Posting

Just curious, I noticed that some pictures seemed to be part of the message, as in the one titled 'all original looking '67 pulling a boat' in the General Discussion area. How can that be done?

I've tried attaching pictures, but had to make them so small they were hard to see.

Thanks

Our Chevy dealer in town received their first 2010 Camaro, so I took a couple of pictures of it along with my '68 base 'vert

General Discussion / John Seaton
« on: December 27, 2008, 12:11:55 AM »
This really doesn't have anything to do with Camaros, but may be a worthy note for all us car enthusiasts.
This past Tuesday John Seaton passed any. He worked for Pontiac Motor Division back in the '60's with John Delorean's team on the developement of the GTO.
Then in the '80's he was part of the team that brought us the Fiero.

Our world was better because of men like him.
Thanks for your contributions, John.

I was wondering what the "Belt Reveal Moldings' were. I did a search, found a thread (from April 2006) with a link showing a picture, but the link did not work.
Could I get another picture from someone??

Thanks
Jerry

Decoding/Numbers / Partial VIN on Tranny
« on: September 04, 2007, 07:23:47 PM »
My '68 vert does not have the original motor & I have always suspected that the tranny is not original either, so, this past weekend I crawled underneath to get the VIN off of it.
It is: 19K565620
I'm thinking that the 'K' is for the Kansas City assembly plant and this trans came from a '69 Chevelle.
Would that be correct??

Thanks
Jerry

Mild Modifications / Convertible Top
« on: June 01, 2007, 03:31:56 PM »
I currently have a manual top on my 1968 Camaro. I want to convert to a power top. I've priced the motor, hoses, hydraulic lifts, wiring harness & switch. Is there anything else? Anything I should be aware of? I'm thinking the top is the same, whether it's a power or manual.

Decoding/Numbers / Camaro Block ??
« on: February 20, 2007, 08:43:42 PM »
I have a 1968 Camaro Convertible. I know that it does not have it's original engine.
The current engine does not have stamped numbers on the pad. The block casting is 3970014.
Was that casting number ever used in a Camaro??
