General Discussion / 1969 Z28 power brakes
« on: August 19, 2019, 11:23:22 PM »
I have a debate going on here.  Were power brakes mandatory on the Z28?  I know the front discs were mandatory. Did that include PB.

Originality / 1969 1100834 alternator fan
« on: July 26, 2019, 09:18:39 PM »
My 03B pace cars 834 alternator is dated 9A16 so, Ive always assumed its original.  The fan on it has the "shark fin" hook.  I've read that this is a high performance feature but, what makes this fan high performance as opposed to the non hooked fan?

General Discussion / Distributor cam lubricator
« on: March 20, 2019, 12:47:59 AM »
Does anyone know what this is and how to do it?  It shows in the 69 owners manual as a regular maintenance item. On Pg. 66 it says to change cam lubricator end for end @ 1200 mi. intervals and replace @ 2400 mile intervals.  I'm unfamiliar and, can't find any details on it.

Restoration / 69 dash clock repair
« on: March 09, 2019, 08:56:12 PM »
Is there any way to repair one of these myself.  Its out of the car now and, I'd rather have the original than a repro.  Any help is appreciated.  Bill

General Discussion / Drive it or trailor it?
« on: April 17, 2017, 11:57:46 PM »
I'm moving 150 miles away.  My 69 Pace car is a driver not a trailer queen, but will driving this distance (all highway miles) do damage to the under hood parts of the car?  Thanks,  Bill

General Discussion / Radio delete
« on: September 11, 2015, 01:45:53 AM »
My 03B Pace car came from the factory with no radio.  When I bought it it had an 1972 AM/FM radio in it.  The previous owner also placed a rear antenna which we know is not possible with D80.  Born with drive train, but no docs.   My question is would you return it to radio delete, leave it as is , or put an original radio in it?  I listen to radio sometimes, but it's not a big deal to me.  just wondering what you think.

Maintenance / Pulsating fuel line?
« on: April 01, 2015, 01:35:00 AM »
I just replaced the 3 piece fuel pump to carburetor line set and replaced both the inline filter canister and carburetor inlet filter.  All went well.  No leaks, engine starts and runs very well, but I notice the 3/8" rubber inlet hose that connects into the fuel pump from the hard line from the tank is pulsating.  Its not just a little; its easy to see but again no leaks and engine runs fine.  Is this normal?  I've never noticed it before.  Sorry to be so wordy.  Thanks.

Originality / Automatics with ZL2 ducted hood
« on: November 19, 2008, 02:06:18 AM »
I bought an apparent NOS stove pipe for my engine but its about 3/4" too long.  Did automatic cars equipped with ZL2 ducted hoods, get the same stove pipes  as  standard four barrel air cleaners, or was it a different part.  AIM only shows standard.

Originality / 1969 AM/FM radio option
« on: June 03, 2008, 12:26:15 PM »
Was there a factory AM/FM option without mutiplex using two rear speakers?  I don't see that setup in the AIM.  If the answer was yes, was the front dash speaker installed or left out in addition to the two rear speakers?  Thank you for your help.  Bill
