General Discussion / 1969 trim tag
« on: November 11, 2022, 02:50:17 AM »
https://www.ebay.com/itm/403987992037?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=vEKjFqq5S5y&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=_hfPqSY7QGa&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Any thoughts on if the trim tag in this ebay auction is factory, or reproduction? It would take a small fortune to get back on the road but I love the color combo.

Restoration / Radiator core support
« on: July 25, 2022, 10:05:14 PM »
I tried searching but didn't turn up anything so sorry if this is a easy one to answer. Is there a difference in core spports between years? I'm sure they all interchange but are there other differences? I need one for my 67 and have ran across what looks to be a good deal onone from a 68. I would like to keep my 67 as correct as possible even though it needs a lot of work.
Thanks in advance!

General Discussion / Convertible blue top 1968
« on: August 02, 2020, 03:04:11 AM »
So I have a question concerning convertible tops. I have a 1968 triple blue car. The body is grotto blue, blue top, medium blue interior. What color of blue is the top supposed to be? Dark, light or medium? I have searched and cannot find a picture that i know is a factory blue top so I'm not sure what shade of blue it should be. Does anyone have a picture of a factory blue top for 1968 or some kind of reference? Also anyone know of a good place to get one? I can find ivory and black but not blue.
Thanks

Seems kind of cool, would take some money to make it right but you don't see them like this much anymore.

Originality / 1968 parchment interior?
« on: July 20, 2013, 09:59:28 PM »
  Hi everyone,

I was wondering about 68 deluxe parchment interior;  My questions concern a Grotto Blue convertible; First would the dash (around the gauges glove box door area; not the top by the VIN)  be Grotto blue like the body? or black? How about the dash pad?  I know the seats, door panels, and rear arm rest area would be parchment but what carpet would it have blue or black? Last what color would the steering column be?

Thanks

Maybe this will help reunite a car and engine. I don't know anything about it other then what the add says. It's not mine but hope it can help someone.

General Discussion / How rare is tripple blue 68?
« on: March 22, 2013, 08:57:23 PM »
I just picked up a 68 convertible that is triple blue: blue body (grotto blue), blue top, blue interior. Does anyone know how common this combination is? Or can someone tell me how many are in the data base? The car I picked up has no drive train and I'm going to make it a nice cruiser but was considering a switch to white (ivory) top and interior being it is not original anyway. However if the triple blue is uncommon I might go back to that. Does anyone have photos of a grotto blue, blue top, blue interior 68 to share?  I would like to see what it would look like.

Thanks in advance

General Discussion / convertible glass ?
« on: March 09, 2013, 07:32:56 PM »
I have a question about glass in convertibles; I tried a search but couldn't find an answer.

I know the windshield is different but is the door and quarter window glass different also? or are they the same as coupe glass?

thanks in advance

General Discussion / what distributor to use
« on: June 23, 2012, 10:52:16 PM »
I want to get my 68 Z engine put together and running but I not been able to find a date correct distributor for it. While I'm waiting to find the correct one what distributor should I run?  I have seen re-stamps, or other stock Chevy Distributors for other engines, L48, L79 etc. or after market. Any input from those of you running 302's would be appreciated.

Thanks
