General Discussion / Goodmark body parts...

Are they good quality. Anything out there any better?

A company is selling them for $179 on ebay. The company "Tamraz's", has sold a bunch of 'em, and has a high rating on ebay. I know, I know, you get what you pay for...but these are guaranteed excellent in fit, and look great in the pictures. Anybody know anything about these?  :-\

Maintenance / Exhaust manifold removal...
« on: January 07, 2008, 09:58:36 PM »
My '68 327/210 Camaro has a cracked exhaust manifold(passenger side). I have a replacement, just need to put it on. The car has factory air and little room to work from the top. Can this be removed from the bottom? Or should I remove the factory AC and take it out from the top?

One other consideration. I could just go ahead and put headers on this motor. The motor's mostly stock. I would definitely want a small tube diameter header. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Restoration / 1968 Camaro restoration
« on: November 19, 2007, 02:33:13 AM »
I have owned my 1968 Camaro since 1989, and have rebuilt the engine/tranny, as well as had it painted its original color and added front/rear spoilers, as well as the correct GM 14x6 rallys over the years. The car is numbers matching w/82,000 miles, and I am considering a complete restoration as at this time in my life, money is not so much a problem as time is. I would like it restored by a shop that specializes in first generation Camaros, or at least F-bodies. I live between Houston/Austin, but would not be opposed to taking it to San Antonio or Dallas, or even somewhere else in Texas if needed, to be restored. Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Lance in Brenham, TX.

I recently ordered 2 cans of "Eastwood Argent/Silver Rally Wheel Paint" from Ecklers as I am restoring my 14x6 Rally's for my 1968 Camaro. Well, when I opened the box yesterday I had 2 generically label cans of "Ralley <sp> Wheel Paint", definitely not the Eastwood paint that is pictured on the website. The can is not even the same size/weight. When I called Eckler's today, they told me that they changed vendors but the paint in the can is the same. WRONG! It is not the same, it DOES NOT spray or look the same as the Eastwood paint I thought I was purchasing. P.S. Eastwood was very interested to find out that Eckler's has a picture of their rally wheel paint on their website for 40% less than they sell it for themselves! The Eckler's Camaro folks are WEASELS in my book!

My '68 Camaro 327/210 is very original except for dual exhausts. I would like to put on a 4 barrell carb and intake manifold. But I want it to be the correct intake/carb for my '68. Not aftermarket. Anyone have Chevy #'s that could help? Will it match up with the stock heads? Thanks.

General Discussion / Tires - how wide to go on my 14x6 rallys?
« on: July 12, 2006, 05:19:13 AM »
I'm thinking I can go to a G60-14, or a 235/60-14, without looking odd or wearing the tire centers prematurely. What are your thoughts or experiences? Thanks, Lance in Brenham, TX.

Maintenance / Powerglide - what type of fluid do I use?
« on: July 10, 2006, 04:50:21 AM »
What type of fluid should I use in my 1968 Camaro with stock powerglide transmission. Car is stock and driven infrequently. Thanks, Lance in Brenham, TX.

Originality / 1968 Camaro Rally Wheel Center Cap question
« on: July 10, 2006, 04:20:51 AM »
My 1968 Camaro has the correct 14x6 rally wheels. I currently have the tall center caps on them. I was looking at them today and the caps seem to really overlap the contour of the wheel, they don't seem to fit flush with the contour of the rim, if that makes any sense. Were they made in different sizes? Or were they all the same diameter. Thanks, Lance in Brenham, TX.

I am restoring a 1968 Corvette Bronze Camaro - 327/210, powerglide, factory AC, etc...i have located a correct set of 14x6 rally wheels but want to know which are the correct center caps. I have looked at parts suppliers and Camaro websites only to get more confused! My car is not a disc brake car. Flat caps or tall caps, which would have been installed from the factory? Thanks, Lance in TX.
