Maintenance / Right turn signal bulb in dash.
« on: July 05, 2011, 03:06:21 PM »
  Hello,
On a 1968 convertible, what is the best method to replace the right turn signal bulb in the dash board? I removed all the screws in the panel holding the speedometer and fuel gauge. This panel doesn't seem to pull out far enough to get at the bulb without disconnecting the harnesses and speedometer cable on the back side which I don't want to do unless absolutely necessary.
Am I making this a bigger job than necessary or is there a way of getting to it from the back side?
   Thanks

Originality / 1968 RS conv. carb
« on: December 04, 2010, 07:24:17 PM »
When I purchased my 1968 RS 327 convertible it came with a Edelbrock 4 barrel. But, along with it in a box was a Holley 4 barrel.
I know the chart shows a Rochester QuadraJet. But, since mine was built in June 1968, does note "6" apply? When referred to the 1969 chart there are no 327-275h.p. 4 barrels listed. My question is : Is there any way this engine could have come equipped with the Holley Carb ?
 Thanks

Maintenance / Tire pressure B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's
« on: May 28, 2008, 05:56:54 PM »
I have a 68 RS convertible with B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's with max. PSI rating of 35.
The original glove box label shows 24PSI front and 28PSI rear.
Understanding that the original tires are quite different from the T/A's what would a good inflation pressure be?

Originality / "68 R/S tail light lense
« on: July 26, 2007, 03:10:39 PM »
I have a 1968 R/S convertible with all four tail light lenses that are red.  I have seen many with white on the inside lenses and red on the outside lenses which I think is correct. But, possibly there is a difference on convertible/non-convertible, or differences between standard, R/S and SS models?

Restoration / '68 chrome strip
« on: May 23, 2006, 12:53:33 PM »
What is the proper positioning of the short chrome strip (12 inches) just in front of the rear tire for a '68 RS convertible? Some are slanted downward about an inch and some are straight. I've viewed many pictures of the "68 conv. trying to find a correlation. It seems the convertibles are slanted and the coupes are straight. Is this the correct observation?
