Maintenance / 1968 a/c power wire
« on: February 13, 2016, 11:43:54 PM »
I am trying to get my wiring straight so i can get my air conditioning and heater working . I see in the aims that the power wire for the a/c seems to come from the horn relay over to the inline fuse at the a/c case. Is it in the wire bundle that the starter wires are in, or was it ran seperate? Mine apears to be missing.
Thanks
Darryl

Maintenance / Leaf spring removal

It doesn't look like there is a whole lot of room to slide the bolt out of the leaf spring shackel. Has anyone had problems getting that out ?

On the front pad of one of my engines it has  V0327HN with a vin of 19lo49561. My questions are what was the  Engine Application Suffix Code HN used for ?  and any guesses on the partial vin (what vehicle)

Originality / The correct starter
« on: April 03, 2007, 02:34:11 AM »
I have a 69 350 engine 14" flywheel,  Checker auto and autozone show no difference in starter part numbers for the 350 and 327. They show it should be DL3664S. That doesn't work. The one for the 396 looked closer DL3560S. What starter should I be using?

                                                             Thanks

Originality / seafrost green with ivy gold int
« on: April 01, 2007, 03:07:55 PM »
My 1968 was originally a seafrost green exterior with an ivy gold interior, all was changed before I got it. In my mind I would think these two would clash. Does anyone have pictures of this combination they could post or send to me ? as I'm thinking about going back original.

Originality / std transmission flywheel size
« on: March 31, 2007, 01:52:02 AM »
What size flywheel should a 68 327 4spd have? The one in my car measures 14" across from tooth to tooth. The one I got out of another 68 was 13" from tooth to tooth, both are using a 10.4" disk.
                                                         Thanks

Originality / 68 front bumper guards
« on: November 30, 2006, 02:22:37 AM »
My 68 has large front bumper guards that clamp to the bumper, and at the bottom bolt to the sheet metal of the car, like in this pic on e-bay  # 330056115326 .  I have had other people say that they should be the smaller ones attaching only to the bumper, What is correct ?   ???

Originality / Paint for firewall and inner finders
« on: September 16, 2006, 07:38:33 PM »
I have been told the inner fenders and firewall of my 68 should be a semi gloss or satin black. Would someone be so kind as to give me a brand of paint and paint # that has worked well for you?
                                                 Thanks Darryl
