Restoration / '69 Non-tilt Key Warning Buzzer
« on: February 26, 2013, 08:07:52 PM »
Ive searched the restoration catalogs for a key warning buzzer switch for a NON-tilt column. No one seems to carry this item any longer, but the switch is available for a tilt column. they are also available for a Corvette Tilt-tele option column. Does anyone know if any of the repo switches available today can be used in a '69 non-tilt Camaro column?

Thanks for your help in advance....

Restoration / A/C Heater control cable bracket
« on: November 17, 2010, 03:36:36 PM »
The pot-metal heater control cable bracket on top of my '69 (with A/C) heater box has crumbled into pieces. I know GM used this same box on several car lines for years....anyone know of a replacement part number, or substitute number from another GM car that will fit the application?

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Restoration / Where does this orange wire go?
« on: October 27, 2010, 02:39:29 PM »
Installing a new engine wiring harness on the '69. Found an Orange Wire with a female blade type connector covered with a rubber boot in the same wrap as the starter soleniod wires. I ordered a harness for a console gauge car...but my original harness has the same orange wire (but appears to have never been hooked to anything).

What's the orange wire for?

Restoration / Leaf Spring Scuff Pad Replacement
« on: April 23, 2009, 02:33:08 PM »
I'm in the middle of restoring the original multi-leafs on a '69. The kit from Ricks has a correct size spring pad set (the pads that go between each leaf), but the "raised" portion is wrong (as denoted on the box). Their instructions say to trim the raised portion and EPOXY the pad to the spring. I'm thinking there must be a better way.

1. Anyone know of a "correct" replacement leaf spring pad available anywhere?
2. Anyone tried Plastic Welding additional material to the pads to fill in the larger indention in the spring?
3. If you went the glue/epoxy route....what type glue or epoxy did you use? What were your results? How are they holding up under use?

A search of previous posts didn't reveal any lessons learned....... Any advice/experience would be appreciated!!! Thanks[/b][/b]

Restoration / reproduced sheetmetal
« on: June 16, 2006, 02:10:03 AM »
I know this topic has been covered recently on this forum but please bear with me, I'm not sure the question was answered previously. I'm to the point of needing to make a decision about front fenders on a Z-10 project. Who makes the "best" repo front fenders for a '69 Camaro, Goodmark or Dynacorn?

Any other manufacturers other than these? Are the fenders from Ricks, NPD, Original Parts Group, Camaro Central, etc all supplied by one of these two manufacturers?

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can give...

Originality / Trans tunnel cutting at factory

John Hinckleys Assembly Process CRG Report didn't really address how the 4 speed shifter hole was installed on first gen camaros. Does anyone know what GM's practice was for cutting the shifter hole? Was it stamped, sawed, or burned with a torch?
