Originality / trunk mat
« on: March 27, 2024, 12:17:56 AM »
I just received my order from "Camaro C" for a moulded trunk mat original style. Its a rubber moulded houndstooth mat that comes rolled in a box. Does not unroll well. Its not cut properly and it simply doest fit. I was naively hoping for something nice. I ws hoping I could still attach my spare tire. Something like this probably doesnt exist. If you happen to know any better options, I would love to hear from you! Thanks in advance

I have a 68 SS with 14" rallys. I want a new set of wheels and I think Cragars are probably.my favorite choice. I want to go 15", but I need some recommendations on width/profile. If you can show a pic, that would be great!!

General Discussion / 1968 SS stripes
« on: October 26, 2023, 11:37:22 PM »
I have a matching #'s 68 SS with a 350. Its a original Corvette Bronze car. I love the paint color, but always loved the Z28 stripes. What's the feeling here of painting rally stripes on a SS? Is this a bad idea. Does this devalue the car?
Thanks in advance

Restoration / exhaust hanger, please help
« on: August 03, 2023, 02:57:39 PM »
I had my transverse muffler on my '68 replaced last week. When I picked it up the muffler guy said " we gotta a problem" Yikes my heart sank!! My muffler bracket somehow got dislodged from the floor plan. I dont prentend to know the name of all parts and pieces of my entire car. I thought I would get that out of the way. However looking at the bracket, there are two bolts with (threaded grommets?) that go through the top of it into the floor pan. There isnt a nut on the top side of floor pan and no way of accessing it. I dont see a way how the grommet is secured other than the bolt expanding the grommet???

Originality / 1968 L48 Valve cover question
« on: August 02, 2022, 08:38:23 PM »
I just purchased a beautifully restored period correct air cleaner and valve covers. I also purchased mew valave covers (not yet installd) Attached you will see my right (passenger side) and left valve covers that are presently on the car. The right side obviously needs the proper hose that goes to air cleaner. What and where can I purchase this hose and clamps etc? The left side's hose requires a new grommet. Are these special or can I get one at local parts store?
Thanks in advance
