General Discussion / Alternator Wiring
« on: January 31, 2024, 08:28:06 PM »
Gentlemen, Ladies, and wiring experts, I'm Confuse and need advice.
Am replacing the Alternator 2 wire connector that goes between the alternator and the external voltage regulator.
Looking from the rear of the alternator, cast into the case is an (R) on the left and an (F) on the right.
Looking at the 1969 Camaro assembly manual the wiring diagram show that the (Dark Blue Wire) is the going from the regulator (F) terminal to the (R) on the alternator and the (white) wire is going from the regulator terminal #2 to the (F) on the alternator.
Am I correct and stating this is wrong and is backwards. Attached picture.

The second attached picture is confirming that the (F) on the regulator goes to (F) on the alternator (Dark Blue Wire) and the regulator terminal #2 (white  wire) goes to the (R) terminal on the Alternator. Correct

I purchased a new connector and the (Dark Blue wire) and the (White wire) are reversed and look to follow the assembly manual can I assume all I have to do is reverse the two wires making it correct?
Thanks
Bob

Hello All:
Cold winter days working on the car, today doing some detailing and have a few questions. What is the color of the factory Alternator fan?
The other question is when I purchased the car it had an extra Alternator a 1100834 dated 9B22 with a regular fan (not hooked) I measured it and it is 0.100 thick. The one on the car with a 1100837 dated 9B4 has a hook fan and it measures 0.062 so I'm thinking the
 fan is a repo?
Any thoughts? Thank you in advance for your help!

Decoding/Numbers / 1969 Camaro Z/28 RS
« on: March 17, 2023, 12:23:47 PM »
Like most I always look at first generation Camaro's to keep a pulse on what is for sale and at what cost. I ran across this beautiful 1969 Z/28 RS on eBay. I looked at the pictures and attached to the listing is a video. I was most surprised the dealer was basing Jerry MacNeish
I don't know Jerry, but I did buy his book with a nice note in it, but I am surprised at what the dealer is claiming and can not fathom Jerry would miss this. Take a looks.

Hello All:
Does anyone know what size pal-nuts are used to secure the rear trunk lid emblem (Camaro by Chevrolet) on a 1969 .
To me they look like 8/32?
Thank you all in advance!

« on: September 01, 2022, 07:05:25 PM »
Does someone have a part number and vendor that sells just the refill for my 69 15" wiper arm. It seems most want to sell the whole wiper arm, just looking for the refill.
Thank you all in advance!

Restoration / 69 Camaro Headlight Bezel With Chrome Trim RH
« on: April 16, 2022, 01:44:45 PM »
Hello All
Weather is improving and looking to get the Z out for a spring ride. One of my last things on my list of winter projects on the car was to replace the Headlight Bezel With Chrome Trim RH. The car was originally painted Burgundy from the factory, but back in the mid 1970's it was painted Fathom Green at the same time they also replaced the grille with a black one, which in my option looks better with the green instead of the silver. Bezel is broken around the inboard side around the mounting screw.
I will be looking for a replacement if I can find a reasonable priced OEM bezel that will work, but not opposed to an after marked repop. Where I need the help is I will need to paint it black as most all are silver. So is the black paint (flat or semi-gloss) I don't think its glossy? So what paint tint and manufacture do you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello All, I am new to this site and and impressed by all the Camaro knowledge here.
I own this 1969 Camaro I have assumed it is a true Z/28, but please let me know if it looks correct.
Unfortunately the engine is gone but the body is excellent condition so am looking for its original DZ 302, I check the orphan link of the forum regularly to see if the engine shows up but after 53 years one can only hope.
Thanks in advance for any help!
