I read and looked at the photos contained in the http://www.camaros.org/suspen.shtml#Brakes as well as the booster, master cylinder and valve sections of the websitte.

What I'm looking for is the correct routing of the brake lines going from the MC to the distribution block on a 67 with power disc brakes and AC. I'm fairly confident that someone has monkeyed with mine by putting a very long line on one of the ports going from the MC to the block.

Does anyone have a photo of factory original lines? Seems the only photos I can find are with the prop valve up by the distro block while mine is down on the frame.

Maintenance / Tach accuracy
« on: September 03, 2021, 04:52:46 PM »
I noticed that the factory tach in my 67 spins crazy numbers that I know aren't accurate. IE it will spin up to and past the 7k mark.

Is there anything to check or something to look at the fix the accuracy of the tach?

Maintenance / Hot air into car when HVAC off
« on: July 01, 2021, 09:25:04 AM »
67 with factory air

Once the engine is at temp, I get hot air into passenger compartment when the system is in the off position. I have to assume the blend door before the heater core is not sealing complete or the door is out of adjustment. The air is coming out of the vents and not through the firewall.

Is there any other reason this would happen?

Thanks!

I know 67 Yenko Camaros are rare, but without the born with engine isn't this a bit much?

The dealer does seem to be a bit out of touch with their pricing on other vehicles as well.

Maintenance / AC plenum valve
« on: April 03, 2021, 02:36:54 PM »
As I'm working through the AC vacuum system on my 67 I have discovered that the plenum valve and flap assembly is missing.

I've got a restored piece ready to install but before I do could some one tell me what purpose this assembly served? Is to let fresh air into the system/cabin?

Is it possible to remove the cowl vent grill without removing the windshield trim? Obviously it will need to come off to install the new plenum valve assm.

Thanks!

General Discussion / Heater/AC factory wire question.
« on: March 28, 2021, 05:11:12 PM »
I see in the AIM C60/E7 there is a diagram and instructions to remove some wires. They appear to be heater wires.

Were these wires supposed to be removed at the factory if the car was an AC car?

My 67 is factory AC and appears to still have those wires.

Maintenance / AC firewall grommet

I'm looking for a firewall grommet for the AC vacuum lines.

Does anyone know the part number or a retailer that still sells them?

Thanks!

Anyone know of a place that does reproductions of 67 seats with headrests? Are they the same as 68s other then the fabric choices?

Originality / 67 convertible unibody brace
« on: February 25, 2021, 08:40:58 PM »
Hello,

I've noticed on a few of the convertibles that I've look at, there is some sort of brace bolted to the bottom of the unibody.

Is there any information about these?

General Discussion / 67 RS/SS convertible - back in the game.
« on: February 21, 2021, 04:45:27 PM »
Like many others, I had my first Camaro back in the early 80s and abused the hell out of it. It was a 67 SS 4spd car that I just raced to death. I sold it 35 years ago when I joined the Army move out of SoCal.

I've been searching for about 2 years now and finally made a purchase.

It's a 2 owner car last sold in 86 I believe. Second owner does not seem to have any other documentation for it.

I've read a few post on this site that there may be a broadcast sheet tape to the top of the fuel tank(LOS car). I haven't had the opportunity to look yet.

VIN - 124677L120633  - someone posted something about a DB of VINs, does this happen to be in it?

With help from this site I've got this.

11B - Nov 2nd week

12667 - Convertible, custom interior

LOS - Van Nuys, California (suburb of Los Angeles)
797Z - Parchment custom buckets

C - Ermine White

D - power convertible top
E - all tinted windows
L - fold-down rear seat
X - power windows

2
E - air conditioning
G - center console
M - Powerglide transmission (LOS - TH400 it is thought) I don't think it's a TH400
R - rear seat speaker

3
L - RPO Z22, Rally Sport Equipment
S - RPO Z23 option, interior decor

4P - correct code for SS 350
