General Discussion / 1969 camaro Z/28 harrison radiator tags
« on: March 03, 2021, 04:56:33 AM »
hi, hoping someone can help me answer what the smaller factory GM tag represents on the bottom of the Harrison radiator located on the CB tank. it is a skinny metal removable tag about 1/2 wide that appears to have a large "O" stamp into it. the metal looks to be the same gauge as the UH tag that is soldered above. I can not find anything on this tag and what it represents. I have removed the original radiator from its home for the last 52 years and need it have a new core installed. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, John

General Discussion / 69 Z/28 survivor
« on: November 07, 2020, 11:06:02 PM »
Hi, looking for the owner of a 1969 camaro assembled or close to the 2nd week of June(Norwood). Reason why is, I have a 2nd week of June 1969 z/28. There are 2 items on my car that have been replace since new, the Smog pump, and the extremely hard to find(date code correct) 40669 fuel pump. I happen to have found both over time, fuel pump could be closer! But will do for now. and i want to replace the existing parts with the my findings. So to make sure the I would have the same bolts marking on my bolts as the other survivor car. This is why looking for the same/close to assembly week from Norwood Ohio. Thanks

General Discussion / 40669 delco fuel pump
« on: October 03, 2020, 11:07:57 PM »
Hi, I have a 1969 Camaro Z/28 survivor with 36,000 original miles, matching numbers with all it original date code parts except for the fuel pump. My car is a June built car, and I need either a May(EI 40669) or June(FI 40669) Delco fuel pump. I have been searching for sometime now with no look. My question is did they produce pumps every month in 1969, cause it seems like I’m either coming across January(AI) or July(GI) and nothing else.

General Discussion / 1969 302 VIN off by 1 number
« on: January 16, 2020, 01:19:25 AM »
hi, i am new to this site as far as registering, but been here many of time researching. I have a 1969 Camaro Z/28 unrestored, but painted in late 70s, with 37,000 original miles loaded with factory inspection markings, the front spring still have factory tags still attach, and have the cars protect-o-plate. I fingered I would start documenting all my finding and get pictures of date codes, and VINs off the tranny and the block using Jerry MacNeish fact book. found everything as was mentioned in his book,  but was having a really hard time with locating the VIN on the block(which is in the car). so I started with removing the paint with paint stripper and a brass brush, and finally number started to appear, I had to use a brass wheel to clean it up but was able to get the 5 numbers to appear. and what I found really confused me! the last 5 number should have read 57910 as on the tranny, but what I found was 57909! off by 1 digit. the block is correct for a June assembled car 3970010, with a May 6 9 date code, so my question is has anyone else come across the same situation, or ever heard of this happening, and if so is this car more or less desirable? i have not been able to find anything on the net about this. I did find an article on this site about a car VIN on the firewall behind the blower fan off by one number. hopefully someone can shed some light on this matter. thanks, John
