Decoding/Numbers / 1967 Camaro - Engine/Transmission/Cowl Plate HELP!
« on: June 15, 2017, 07:25:53 PM »
First time poster, and could use some help from those with a lot more knowledge, as my digging has only lead to more questions as to what we have sitting in my garage right now.

Working to help a friend restore a 1967 Camaro, and we are not finding much on the block and transmission in the car, can anyone help elaborate if any of this is original to it? From what we have heard it has an experimental Corvette block in it and what appears to be a TH350 transmission. Below is the cowl plate info and the information I could get off the transmission, and the numbers we could get off the engine block.

Car's location since 1993: Alaska
No idea where it was before that. My friend bought it off a lady who's son died while restoring it, and it has been sitting since then (which If I remember right it was in 1993)

1967 Camaro
VIN Number: 124377L105578

Transmission Number: B6K03D

1.B =Cleveland TH350
2.6? = 1966?
3.K = July
4/5. Date =03
6. D = Day shift

Has a 10 bolt rear axle

Cowl Plate:
      10A                         C180
ST  67-12437  LOS  3252   BODY
TR  717-Z                 D-D   PAINT
       2M

Engine
Casting Number: 395912
Front Pad stamp-passenger side: CE4N23648 and SO118XCB

Notes: Might be a 62-67 small journal block, 327

S=Saginaw engine plant?
0118 = January 18th
XCB = Replacement engine?

CE4N23648
CE=Factory warrantee replacement engine
4? = Might be a 4? Unknown
N = Flint Michigan V8 Replacement plant
23648 = Service unit replacement number

From what I've read up on, the TH350 never came with the 67 Camaro, and the block we have no idea about other than it was a warranty replacement motor part of the warranty program. Anyone have any insight as to what we might have on our hands? Has a Quadrajet carb on the motor now.
