Looks like a rare 67 375 hp big block auction.

Not mine - but looks very nice!

This car is another thread on this site (Topic: 1969 Z28 CrList ad  (Read 522 times)) -

It is an 05A car - I don't think the VIN should be on the engine pad?

Sad to say that this beauty is going to Phoenix Barrett Jackson - JM will be driving it across the block & it will be sold😕 VIN 124379N635630

Although I have not posted often I do read this forum almost daily & it continues to be an unbelievable resource.

Next up will be a 67 Z...

Engine pad needs to be clean (no paint) in order for it to be fully accessed.

Understood Byron - the seller is a bit eccentric & wasnít about to let me strip the paint off the pad🙂

I just have never seen a partial VIN upside down & thought the tranny should have it?

BTW JM also knows the car but has not seen it for a long time - so who knows whatís been done to it - if anything.

Thanks to all for your comments - the car is a number 3 & the seller is asking better than number 1 pricing so a deal is not imminent👎

Decoding/Numbers / 1967 Z28 Engine and Transmission Stamps
« on: November 27, 2018, 10:17:59 PM »
Good afternoon -

I am hoping to get some input on the engine and transmission stamps attached.

The L160XXX VIN number seems to align with the production date of 06B.

Are the engine assembly date of 0322 (Mar 22) and the tranny date of C28 (Mar 28) too early for a second week of June build?

The engine pad partial VIN number is upside down compared to the assembly date stamp - this seems wrong to me?

There is no partial VIN stamp on the tranny?

And BTW the rear axle is a QA - 12 bolt 4:10 posi.

Thank you!

Enjoy what you have Danny. You can only drive one car at a time.

Well put  but rarely considered!

No affiliation - any thoughts on this other than the 402 replacement block & the blurry VIN & Trim tag photos?

What did you guys think of the stamps? I wasnt crazy about either.

Iím no expert but the engine VIN stamps looks way too clear compared to mine & others Iíve seen.

Am I missing something here? The eBay photos don't show Rally Sport? ???

Well, the original intent of the Camaro Research Group WASN'T to be the "Camaro police", but after so many years and so many cars, it's hard to stay on the sidelines when this kind of issue comes up. It's unfortunate, but more and more cars are being represented as something they never left the factory as, and as I indicated above, with the advent of the internet, it's making faking these cars more and more difficult. And yet they keep trying!!!

As I always tell potential buyers, before laying down your hard earned cash, contact us and see if we have a history on the car. Also post as many high resolution pictures of the trim tag, engine pad, transmission, axle, docs, etc... as possible. While fakes are good, Kurt is better!

This is another example of the incredible value this site and its impressive posters provide to anyone looking to collect a real Camaro - whatever the options.

While it is unfortunate if vinnie2010john didn't know what he bought (or thought he bought) at least it should end here for 428847 being sold as a real Z.

So is my Z the only one on the planet with a std black steering wheel?  ;D

I have the second :)

Didn't 69 production run into november of 69, and isn't that a late vin number?

Norwood VIN 522xxx is Oct 1968
