i've been looking at SSs on copart.  what's a decent price for one with a non repairable body and a good engine and tranny?  what is the cost to join copart through a dealer?  thanks

thank you Wayne.  that's exactly what i wanted to know.  i have been paying someone else to do my aluminum engine block repairs and i think i can do better.  they've ruined 3 hard to find blocks.  what's a good tig machine for part time mostly hobby use capable of repairing blocks?
thanks

been looking at a miller 211.  i like miller's wire feed mechanism better than lincoln.  miller seems simpler to change over for different wire size.  should i get the spool gun for aluminum or buy a tig?  i occasionally need to repair damaged aluminum engine blocks.
thanks

how were the decks surfaced on these blocks?  someone said they should have broach marks.  is that right?  how does a broach work compared to today's techniques?

is there a way to get all owners history for a pre-1981 vehicle with the VIN?  i tried my county clerk but they would only give me last owner the vehicle was registered to.
thanks

why change perfection?  everything chevy made in 67 was perfect, except the impala.  even the pickup is a classic.  camaro, nova, chevelle, corvette, pickup...that group of vehicles will never be beat.

it looks like the date code is made with gang stamp and vin was stamped individually because they're out of line.  is that right?

i don't have a picture.  i'm trying to buy one and don't want to get burned.  is this some secret code or something?  seems there could be a few clues explained?

i'm anxious to see the MO examples.  could someone include a scale next to both size letters so i can at least see the right size?  also what letter spacing?  did they use the same size stamps on muncie transmissions?
if a 68DZ used different stamps than 69DZs, sounds like there was more than 1 set of stamps used.  is that only true for DZs or any engine during that period?

is there a way for a rookie to verify a genuine 302 pad stamp?  how do you know if it's real?  is it the letter size, style, or what?  what sizes are the engine code and vin?  do you just measure the letter height?

sorry you had to make that choice.   i know it hurts.  i sold a mint 65 ford pickup and harley davidson super glide just to get some cash.  it makes me sick every time i think of them.  i will starve before i sell my Z28.  hope you find a replacement.
