General Discussion / Re: Fall Charlotte Autofair, September 18 - 21

My husband Bill and I are bringing our '69 and '11 to show with GM Toyz.  Also planning to go Friday and visit the vendor and swap meet areas. I have my shopping list ready to go and the hunt for parts is almost as fun as finding them.  Jennifer

Originality / 69 350 2bbl air cleaner
« on: July 07, 2014, 04:55:41 PM »
I currently have the 2bbl intake manifold and carburetor for a '69 307 (3927183 and 7029101) and want to replace them with the correct parts for a '69 350 L65 automatic (3916313 and 7029114). I have the carb and am working on the manifold but I'm stuck on the air cleaner. The part number is 6484674 and the parts catalogs show it was used for 350 w/2bbl in 1969 Camaros and Chevy II and Novas from 1970-1972. After lots of searching and going round and round I can't seem to find any good examples of the correct parts to compare to what I have and identify what I need to look for. I've attached pictures of the current set up. Anyone have pictures of a correct set up or help identify what I have?

General Discussion / Re: Do You Still Have Your First Car?

I was one of those unappreciative brats who was given a '69 Camaro for their 16th birthday. Wrecked it shortly after my 17th birthday. Funny thing is that was probably the best thing that ever happened. My dad had the space to store it until I could do it right and now I appreciate it and the connection to my dad every single day.

Roy, words cannot convey how thankful I am for all your efforts and work on this project. You have taken your time to answer our questions here and I appreciated your help updating my report. I wish you nothing but the best wherever the next road takes you.

Thanks to NCRS, I received my shipping report today.
Order number - 912 (time to delivery was exactly 30 days as promised which is good considering it had to come to Australia).
Dealer code 107 in zone 19.
Dealer - Courtesy Chevrolet, Medford, Oregon.

I've searched but cannot find any information on this dealership except for one in Arizona and another in San Jose. Does anyone have any info on them or know where I could start looking?

I have found newspaper archives invaluable! Hope this link works, it gives somewhat of a timeline for that dealership.

A huge Thank You to Roy and the NCRS for this service and for everyone who has posted information. A special thanks Roy for the time you have spent on this forum providing us with more information and clarification.

I am sure there are going to be a ton of questions about the information provided in these reports, especially matching up the dealer code/zone to the name and locations given. When there is a discrepancy or something odd what is the best way to get clarification from the NCRS? I was 99% sure what the report would list as the dealer name and location. Turns out the code and zone match what I thought and what others seem to have but the dealer name and location on my report does not.

We used the PUI interior to redo the front and rear seats last year, close up picture of the comfort weave is attached. I found the first owner had covered the seats long ago so I have a fairly good example of the original material. There is a huge difference but my understanding is the original material is not available. I didn't get samples to compare the different brands out there now but the seat covers we got fit well and all things considered we are happy with them.

Decoding/Numbers / Found this tag under the dash-any idea what it is?
« on: March 20, 2014, 08:18:59 PM »
I found this tag last fall after fiddling with the wires under the dash last fall. It was on the carpet so it fell from somewhere but I don't know where exactly. Has anyone seen one of these before?

Decoding/Numbers / 69 350 2bbl carburetor 7029116
« on: October 25, 2013, 05:45:12 PM »
I noticed this carburetor for sale on ebay since it is the part # and broadcast code (7029116 DF) that is listed for a 69 L65 350 automatic with AC. Based on the broadcast sheets I've seen (mine included) and other info it seems use of the 7029114 DD was common whether the car had AC or not. I couldn't find anything for the 7029116 other than references to the books. Just curious if anyone has seen one of these before or had anything to add.

Originality / Re: Sorry, another air cleaner decal question
« on: October 25, 2013, 04:45:16 PM »
I might be able to make adjustments to that Black "CO" decal shown on my website.  I would need the AC filter number (if not A348C), two digit code (DD?) and part number (6484674?).  Might be worth a shot.  Let me know.

How did I miss this post???? A very belated thank you for the offer! The code is DD and the part number is 6484674, I'm not sure about the AC filter number but I will look.

I'm still not sure if the black/gold decal is (or could be) correct for my car.

Thanks Brian, unfortunately there is nothing on the website you gave me for the L65 350.

John, that is what I thought. Am I on the right track with the black/gold decal?

Originality / Sorry, another air cleaner decal question
« on: September 16, 2013, 01:36:30 AM »
I'm trying to get as close as I can to the correct air cleaner decal (not the engine/hp) for my '69 and think I have the right info but wanted to double check. 01C Van Nuys build L65 with the TH350 automatic, the broadcast sheet confirms the DD carb and the AIM shows the air cleaner assembly should be 6484674. I found one on ebay that has the DD and part number but it is black and gold. I am understanding this would be correct for my build date and the "Keep your GM car all GM" white stickers are on later builds? I'm also understanding these were almost always put on the drivers side of the car but there is no detailed info or dimensions on placement.

Thanks as always for the assistance!

We have our spots lined up with clubs for both the new and the old Camaro. Really looking forward to it!

We have our spots lined up with clubs for both the new and the old Camaro. Really looking forward to it!

Which groups?

Phillip, the '69 (Frosty69) will be with South Eastern GM Toyz and the '11 (nsaneblk) will be with the 5th Gen of the Carolina's. Will we get to see your car as well?

Hope there will be opportunities to meet everyone.
Jennifer
