Restoration / Hole in trunk pan for 1969 camaro for fuel sending unit
« on: June 09, 2023, 11:45:19 PM »
Hello,
I had to replace my trunk pan, and am now installing the fuel tank and sender.  I realized I did not take note of where the sending unit comes through the trunk pan.  Does anyone have a picture and measurements where this hole for the tan wire should be drilled.  What is the whole size?  Also where does the ground wire attach?  Thanks for your help.

Originality / 1969 Camaro AC Dryer

What color was the AC dryer on a 1969 SB Camaro?  Got a re-pop and it is aluminum color.  Is this correct?

Originality / 1969 Power Steering Pump
« on: February 15, 2023, 05:41:36 PM »
Hello,

I have a 1969 Z10 350 with manual transmission, factory AC and Power Steering car.  It was a basket case and am trying to bolt everything back up to the motor.  The PS pump double pulley seems to be to far forward by about 1/4 inch.  I am using factory cradle bracket and support bracket form forward manifold to motor mount.  I know the pulleys are correct.  I bought a remanufactured PS pump Sagnaw style.  My question is the rounded banjo style PS pumps standard on the 1969 SB or the more square topped PS pump?  I have seen both for sale for 1969 SB.  What else could be causing the mis-alignment of pulleys?  The crank pulley is a 3 groove pulley.  Thanks for any help you can provide

Mild Modifications / Flowmaster American Thunder System 17104
« on: February 12, 2023, 08:20:55 PM »
Hello,

I Have a factory small block 350 dual exhaust car and wanted to replace the exhaust.  I was considering the Flowmaster American Thunder 17104 system.  Can you use the factory exhaust hangers or do you have to drill through the floorboard and use the hangers they provide.  I would like to really use the factory hangers to make it look as original as possible.  any insight anyone can provide would be great!  Thanks  :)[/b]

Originality / Re: 1/4 inch vapor return hose
« on: April 01, 2021, 04:51:37 AM »
Do I need to worry about the hard gas line Rubbing on the water pump housing or on the timing chain cover?  It is just kind of propped against them.  There is a clip to hold the vapor return line and hard fuel line together.  They are pretty rigid, just don't like the metal on metal.

What is the length of the short hose that connects the (AC fuel fuel) filter to the metal vapor return line on the 1969 Camaro on 350 SS.  Are the squeeze fuel line clips suppose to be painted red?

Would something like this work for the accumulator hose insulation?

Aeroflex 3/4 pipe insulation

Any pictures of original would be great!

Thanks Joe

What is the length of foam on 1969 Camaro AC hose, the hose from compressor to the Evaporator?  The protective foam as it goes over the alternator?  Do they sell a reproduction?

Originality / Re: 1969 Power Booster Intake fitting
« on: March 01, 2021, 09:08:41 PM »
Does the L48 use the metal tube off of the intake fitting and then transition to a hose, or go hose all the way from the brake booster to the intake vacuum fitting?

Originality / 1969 Power Booster Intake fitting
« on: March 01, 2021, 04:58:06 PM »
Could you tell me what is the correct fitting for the vacuum port on a 04C 1969 Z10 with 350 L48 engine with Air conditioning, manual transmission and of course RS.  Did this engine use the Vacuum Power brake Pipe?  Or did the hose go directly to the intake fitting?  Did the fitting have 1 or 2 additional vacuum ports other than the threaded one going to the brake power booster?  It is illustrated in the 1969 Camaro assembly manual under J50 A5, but I can not determine which fitting is correct for my car.  Thanks for your help

General Discussion / Do 1969 camaro steering colunms have numbers?
« on: June 19, 2012, 10:53:29 PM »
I want to buy a 1969 tilt colunm for a muncie floor shift car but have not been able to find any place that lists the numbers for that colunm.  Do they even have numbers?  How do I know I am getting the right colunm?
