« on: March 08, 2012, 12:08:08 PM »
Guys do you know if Chevy cast dates on there crankshafts at the foundry? I have a BB crank and it looks like a raised letter 69 near the top of the front throw? Did they do this?

Good luck Jerry. Hope you have another fine season. I had the pleasure meeting the Wenzel brothers here in Mich at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin Mich. One of thee best dragstrips in the US right now, beautiful facility. A super nice 67 Z-28, unreal. Hope to see Jerry at US131 someday.

Pinks rods were good. Myself i got burned twice buying used factory performance rods from different sellers. I was able to get my money back though. Remember if you are bidding on Z rods or BB rods, good perf rods, make sure you ask the seller if he or she had them magged, check for straightness, and had the big end check for out of round condition. Lesson for me, when i build my 302 69 Z-28 Engine down the road, i will buy new Manley, Oliver, rod that is made in the USA. No off shore junk for me.

Dont look for Chevy to make a Z-28 Camaro. Personally i hope they dont. The 302 engine was speical in 67-69 Z-28 and hate to see it back in a Camaro anytime soon in a turbo charger form.

Well guys i been to my local Walmart 3 miles down the road and gave the store manager all the info and numbers he needed to order me a case of Prestone Break Cleaner. This manager contines to tell me he calls these phone numbers and get prompts and no one answers. I have lost my patience with this manager and had it out with him. I told him he should be able to contact this supplier Prestone and order anything he needs, Walmart carries plenty of their products. All i get is a runaround with this manager. What should i do? Anybody have any ideas what steps i should take now. Again where is the custmer service this day and age. Personally i am not a big fan of Walmart, ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED.

Brandon you should get one of Jerrys 67-68 Camaro Z-28 fact books. This is the bible on these Camaros for that year. I bought all these from Jerry, 69Z8- SS-BB Camaros, 67-68 Z28. Jerry is the man. He is the guy who knows these cars. Also this forum has plenty of very good experts too.

Jerry,
I just cant believe how customer service and treatment how gone down the tubes so horribly. What is it with these businesses and how they treat a customer. Going back to the brake cleaner, i cant tell you how many times now i been back to two Wlamart stores nearby my home and get no call back on questions i had regarding this brake cleaner, yet they take my name and number and when i get there they tell me they forgot to call and they get a voice mail on this product they are trying to get for me, just unreal. Thanks for the heads up on Ricks, i will stay away from there for my restoration. I appreciate your calls back to me Jerry when i have a question about work to be done by you or other things in general. You understand the business and how customers want to be treated. I appreciate your professional service, thats huge to me. Not to blame the younger generation but where is the concern and courtersy.

Beautiful car for sure. Chevy always does a great job with these Indy pace cars. Also when Chevy gets back into the Indy racing series in 2012 with there V-6 Powered twin turbo engine this even makes it better yet. The leader in performance.
