Restoration / Leaf Springs
« on: June 23, 2015, 05:55:24 PM »
Hello Howard
Does anybody know what the correct spring-arch dimension should be for the rear 5-leaf '69 COPO springs? Back in the 70's, I had the springs re-arched to gain tire clearance, and now I am restoring the car, and I want to put it back to the original ride height. I would like to get it right the first time, rather than trial and error. Thanks

My original 1969 with blue interior has the sued around the package tray below the rear glass, and a friends unrestored 69 Z has the (black) sued also.

I would guess that all assembly plants switched around this time, but I was working with a Baltimore built Chevelle when I discovered this info.

I know that the Chevelles switched from the 2-piece rotors to the 1-piece around February 1970.

Originality / Z23 option
« on: January 13, 2009, 11:57:58 PM »
Hello,
Has there ever been a documented (original owner) factory original Z23 option for the 1969 Camaro Coupe that included the bright roof rail moldings? I've owned a '69 Camaro Coupe since 1972 and it has all the Z23 options: rosewood steering wheel, woodgrain dash on drivers side, pedal trim and dash assist handle. But it also has the drip rail molding and I would have bet it came that way from the factory, but I am told that is impossible! I tend to believe that there were always exceptions/errors made at the factory. I am in the process of restoring the car to factory original, and I'm debating weather or not to put the drip rail mouldings back on the car.
Thanks for your help!
