I can't help but think the "green z" at the Las Vegas BJ had something to do with the " they are as tired of this as we are ".

General Discussion / parts sharing, Camaro and Nova?
« on: December 28, 2015, 12:28:52 PM »
Anybody here know of a website like this that deals with Nova's? '69's in particular.
I just bought a 69 with: SB, T350, a/c, p/s, drum brakes, bench seat, in Butternut Yellow/black vinyl top and a dark GREEN interior.
VERY original, almost NO rust, and it runs and drives.
I'm going to install a Gen V 454 and a TH400 with a 9", 4 wheel disc brakes and drive it.
BUT, for the life of me, i cannot find any pictures of BB a/c Nova.
All kinds of COPO, SYC, 427, 375/396, but no 325hp 396 w/a/c engine compartment pictures.
Maybe one of you?
Also, Camaros and a Novas are so much alike , I'm wondering about pullies and brackets and stuff.
Camaro and Nova use the same parts?
AND I've been to Team Nova, there ain't much going on there.
Any help mucho appreciated.

the barrett jackson catalog even stated the car is a rebody. i guess that shows somebody (the writer) was a bit um, slow in the catchup. and it was bid to $135,000, the number in HotRod must have been with all the added BJ pay checks. The bar it sets is kinda crooked................(no pun intended). It was kinda funny watchin', the bid went to 140,000.00 pretty quick, then the auctioneer announced it was a rebody and the bid amount dropped to 130,000 and it was a struggle to get it back up to 135,000. I've got a video of the whole thing.
and not only did the car "make Hot Rod", it was on the Official Barrett Jackson event T shirts. Yes I bought one.

Can somebody please explain this all to me? How is it that what is now acknowledged as being a rebodied Z28 with a Jerry MacNeish  report from 2008 stating it has a "restoration drive train" ever be worth anything close to 148K. Confused..........

Is the VIN of the donor body known by anyone? Other than by whoever did the re-body?

I haven't seen where anyone is bragging about that one..  :)

Bragging? Hiding would be a better option. But then nobody really cares anymore anyway.

I don't think Barrett Jackson was ensuring anything. The bid went to 140,000.00 pretty quick, then the rebody was mentioned, and the bid dropped to 120,000.00. It was a struggle to get it back up to 135,000.00. Remember it takes two to play that game.

I was there and have a video with sound of the sale. I'm glad to see Pratt didn't get "hurt" on the car, and now everyone knows about the car, even the new owner. I have to say, when I heard the word, re-body, my heart skipped a beat. One thing, I'd like to know, how they figured out it is a re-body. Everyone was so sure it wasn't, back then.
