Restoration / Help with parking brake light
« on: October 01, 2008, 09:41:10 PM »
I installed all new paking brake cables on my 68 today, and I have no light that comes on the dash,(with the brake on) the switch behing the pedal only has one wire to it, so I asume it breaks a circuit to trigger the light, but I dont know if I shoud have power at the switch or not, the bulbs in the dash left to right are low fuel, turn signal, then brake, I looked under the dash and it seems the bulb socket for the brake light is a little off center and has a diffrent type socket, it was hard to get to so I though I would post before tearing thing apart
Thanks in advance
Lane

Originality / Insrument cluster question
« on: September 30, 2008, 09:56:48 PM »
I have a 68 camaro grotta blue with the blue int. the int has never been painted on or touched,
my question is, is it common for the instrument cluster to be faded, it still has a blue tint but close to silver, it does not look out of the ordinary just faded. Is this common on this color?
Thanks

Repop stickers have been around since at least the late 70's and very early 80's, Thats over 25-30 years ago!

I did not know that. here is what I got, They have been on the car since 1977

The posi "sticker" isn't really a sticker... it was a piece of paper that was hap-hazzardly smeared with glue then stuck onto the inside of the deck lid... so if yours is an actual sticker it is a reproduction...

What about the tire sticker in the glove box, how can I tell?

I bought a 68 model a few month ago and posted some questions about the car, one that I need to clerify is how can you tell Reproduction sticker from originals, I had took a pic of my tire (glovebox) and Posi sticker and they were called reproductions, I have since talked to and met the owner of the car frome 1977 to 1994 and the stickers were there then, he had a very extensive photo album, were reproduction stickers made for 9 year old cars? how can I tell repo or not
Thanks
