Maintenance / Re: 67 Camaro Standard AC Switch
« on: June 10, 2014, 06:56:03 PM »
Thanks Mark. I have a console on my 67 and you are right about crawling under there and looking, especially in Texas heat.   Is this an electrical switch or a vacuum one?  Not sure if 69's had any vacuum switches but 67's do.

Maintenance / 67 Camaro Standard AC Switch

I have fixed my blower on the factory air 67 camaro standard.  Does anyone have a picture of the AC switch that kick on when the lever on the four season console is pulled to cold and activates the compressor?  The wiring diagram doesn't help with the physical location.

I am also considering replacing my stock gauge in my 67 with the Classic Instruments Gauge set but was wondering anyone on this forum has actually installed them and what their experience was using a stock wiring harness.

Thanks,

Mark

Mild Modifications / Re: Headers
« on: June 19, 2008, 04:24:27 PM »
paul,

I have the same set up on my car and went with the Heddman Husler Headers.  The A/C side was not a problem as it fits great.  I ran into a fit problem on the steering side.  I ended up having to reroute the front tube (cut and paste) in order to make it work.  I also need to let you know that I went ahead with a power rack and piniion system from Flaming river.  I would've had to do the same or at least bang on the header to make it fit a non-rack system to get it around the steering box.

Mild Modifications / Re: Cowl Induction with A/C

Thank you much for your replies.  I was wondering if the set up is in the assembly manual or where would I find the schematics for the set up of the Cowl system.

The other question is whether your 68 comes with Factory A/C.  That's another constraint on which header to go with.

Mild Modifications / Cowl Induction with A/C

Has anyone out there tried a cowl induction with A/C in a 67.  I have 67 with factory A/C and am not sure where to connect up the cowl connection.

I am hoping someone out there can help me with a problem I have run into with my Flaming River Steering Column, Hedman Header, and Flaming River Rack.  My driver side Hedman Header is in the way of my Flaming River Rack and Pinion connection and the column by the same company.  I am using a three piece universal joint and the angle of the shafts are more than what is needed for a smooth turning column.  The front pipe of the header comes over the middle two and over the rack and pinion connection. Any one has done the same set up and came up with a way of fitting everything together?

Appreciate any help before I start cutting the header and rewelding.

General Discussion / Hedman Husler Headers and A/C bracket location
« on: March 22, 2008, 05:28:48 PM »
Does someone out there have a diagram or a picture of how the A/C bracket, P/N 20110, fit on the Hedman Husler Hedder and the AC evaporator unit in a 67 SBC Camaro.  I don't want to screw it up and melt the plastic evaporator housing.  Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

General Discussion / 68 center console and shifter for a 67 camaro
« on: March 06, 2008, 04:28:19 PM »
Due to the exorbitant cost of used 67 original shifters and the fact that I like the feel and the look of the Horseshoe shifter on the 68, I have decided to replace my shifter on the tree for my 67 with a 68 horseshoe shifter and console. I will be putting in an after market steering column.  I have heard that the wiring will not match up.  Any insight into how to match the wiring of a 68 console to a 67 harness would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Mild Modifications / 67 Camaro Steering Column Replacement
« on: February 21, 2008, 03:49:22 AM »
I have a few questions on the replacing my stock 67 steering column with an aftermarket one now that I have switch the shifter from the tree to the flloor.  I have a powersteering.

1.  What supplier would you recommend
2. Any issues with fit I should be aware of
3. What other parts will I need to order to make the swap work.

Thanks,

Mark
