It is very rare.  About 1600 cars out of 243,000.

I did not restore mine but I have it and it all works perfectly.

Yea, it is just a straight
piece of pipe.  I could not
believe my local chevy dealer had
them.  I bought three!  The hose
is not available so I got a radiator by pass
hose that works great.

I have been trying too but it says my file is too large.  I set the resolution to the lowest on my camaera and still dont work.  I dont know how to change the pic once it is on my computer

I found the connector at a local chevy dealer.  $5.31   !!!!!!!!!

Hose and grommet discontinued in 1988.  Not available.

I assumed I had the original plastic cover.  It has a GM part # on it and is in great condition.  I just ask because a friend of mine who thinks he knows everything said it should be metal.

I say drive it.  That is what it was made for.  Make sure your insurance covers it and is adequate.  These cars are useless if you drive them 6 times a year.
I have two classic cars I never drive, I have buddy who owns 9 muscle cars and drives his Ford truck.  The cars sit in a building.

I just did the engine in my camaro and plan on DRIVING it.....I am tired of just looking at it sitting in the garage.  I just sold a 2004 Z06 corvette I have had sine 2004 and put only 2800 miles on it.  They guy I sold it to is going to drive the shit out of it!

My vote is:   insure it, drive it, enjoy it.  If it gets stolen, buy another one!  That is my plan.

I have been using Grundy for several years and they have been great.  I have a 1966 Nova and my 1969 ss/rs and pay about $300. per year for both.  I have the nova insured for $25,000. and the camaro for $36,000.  No aprasial needed.

I just sent them updated photos of the ss/rs after I restored the engine and documented all the date codes and numbers.  I want to increase the insurance to $42,000. I will let you know their response.

If you look at the picture, it is not an elbow.   (You can buy an elbow)
It is a straight piece.

Still cant find the piece ("connector") that goes between the hose and grommet.
