General Discussion / Looking for 9L516958 (Blue 69 Z/28 heater delete)
« on: April 16, 2009, 01:43:31 AM »
Been roughly a year since I toss a posting out about this Z/28.. Has anyone run across this blue Z 9L516958.. It has my original DZ engine and I'm trying to track it done. Will pay a finder's fee for the location of this car. if you want to read the story about this hunt, check out my blog. http://findmyengine.com.

Maybe by now, the owner has taken out my DZ and replaced it.. So I'm looking for 9Nxx1558 engine and tranny.

Thank for any help on this..

Jim

Ok,

I played around and got a posting system working on findmyengine.com. It's works, but not user-friendly yet.. Because of the positive responses, I'll build out a nice database one shortly. Check it out, on the right side of the site, labeled "Post Your VINs" you can add in your car or your engine information. Don't worry, whatever information is inserted here, will be easy to export to the database system.

JohnZ,

I really don't know.. Maybe because the car was ordered and went directly to Hawaii? Can someone else explain this?

GaryL,

Just build it and they will come. :-)  Seriously, it's much easier having the story out on the web, you don't have to keep repeating yourself to everyone that you meet. Just tell them to read the story. With the great leads that I got off CRG, I'll hit all the Camaro clubs in WI and IL, asking them if they remember the car and the owner.. I just tell the club president or VP to advise his members about the www.findmyengine.com website. Works great...

I'm actually going to start a "Post your own" find my engine area shortly. Would you like to be the first to post?

William,

You mind me asking the name of your Camaro Business?

William,

Tom was the owner back in 1997 or before? And then sold it to someone else that brought it into your shop as well? Just trying to setup a timeline.

Thanks for a great lead!
