Yes, she is well spoken and learning more each day about the restoration hobby. When we started she was worried that she did not know what she was talking about. Actually I am the school teacher around here!
She appreciated your comment..

Actually she seems to be more understanding of the parts and supplies I buy now that she is involved in it... We shall see if it lasts.

So I'm getting my wife involved in the restoration of our 1969 Camaro convertible. We have a YouTube channel documenting the process..

Originality / Re: Guide to cocktail shakers
« on: November 04, 2008, 07:58:29 PM »
For those out there who do not know, my research has discovered the following concerning cocktail shakers for the first gen convertible camaro:
67 camaro shakers are interchangeable with firebirds front and rear and with 68 Camaros.
68 Firebird shakers are NOT interchangeable with Camaros of any year neither front nor rear.
69 Camaro shakers are not interchangeable with 67 nor 68 Camaros.
69 Camaro shakers may be interchangeable with Firebird, I don't know.

Thanks for the great information! It seems I bought a set of cocktail shakers on Ebay that were advertised for a 68 Camaro but I guess they are actually for a Firebird. I guess my search continues...

I would sure love to see a report or visual guide to cocktail shakers or vibration dampeners for the convertible Camaros (and Firebirds to keep them all straight).
I have seen round ones and square ones and have heard about fronts with short legs and fronts with longer legs and that the 69 shakers are not compatible with 67 or 68 and that Firebird shakers are not compatible with Camaros.
What is the truth and when did the changes occur? Does anyone know beyond speculation? Anyone have photos? Did all 68s use the same type of shakers? ???
Thanks!

General Discussion / Need to replace the rocker panel on my convertible
« on: December 27, 2007, 05:53:06 PM »
I need to replace the driver's side rocker panel on my 67 ragtop. Should I build a jig or car dolly to mount the body on first? Does any one have any specs or plans for those? I also need to do the floor pans but I will do the rocker first I guess.

No one knows? Really?

Removing the rotor is a great idea. I used to remove the coil wire but someone can use just about any coil wire if they try.
