Originality / Re: grey/white spatter paint in 67 trunk?

That is correct, dark grey with white dots. So it is possible that a 67 could have had this color combination instead of the black and aqua combination that most seem to have had?

The GM paint if very close to correct from what I have read on this forum. If you search on spatter paint on this forum, you will find a couple people who make an almost exact match. I have been trying to get an answer to my question for about a week now, but no one has come forth with any answers.

Originality / grey/white spatter paint in 67 trunk?
« on: June 04, 2007, 12:41:36 PM »
Is it possible that my car came painted with grey and white spatter paint in April of 1967? Every bit of it looks like the grey and white paint and I have compared it to other cars with the aqua and black paint and it doesn't look anything even close to that color.

the "bar" you speak of is the oil pump drive pin. It can be at any position. It has nothing to do with the distributor being exactly right or out 180 degrees. Believe me, I've been through this may times. If your distributor is pointing in the wrong direction to get the timing even close to right, it is out by teeth.

On a 67, was the trunk spatter painted before or after the convertible balast weights were installed? Is it possible that in 67 some convertible trunks were spatter painted grey/white instead of aqua/black? Mine looks like it has original spatter paint and it seems too light to be aqua/black. Thanks for any responses.

Originality / Re: No partial VIN on blocks

My 67 has no partial vin. I assumed it was a factory replacement. The date code is a month after the car build date.

Sounds like the distributor is out a tooth or two. I have seen this problem in the past.

Did the trunk get spatter painted before or after the convertible weight balast were installed?

My 67 convertible built at Norwalk in April of 67 appears to have grey and white trunk spatter paint, not aqua and black. Is that a possibility because it look original to me? Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Can anyone provide me with the exact D91 bumble bee stripe dimensions that a 1967 camaro would have come from the factory with. Also, I have a new NOS passenger fender on my car and have no idea what the exact location for the antenna is. Can anyone give me those exact dimensions and locations. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
