Actually, I have one from when I put a patch in a few years ago.

I'll see if i can get a clean pic today. I'm under it cleaning the crud off for paint anyway. Difficult to get proper light under there as it's on jack stands.

Restoration / Re: 1967 rs ss

The 2L 4P is not a dead giveaway that it is an SS. That same designation applied to L30 327, M20 Saginaw 4 speed cars as well. I wouldn't throw this out as doubt except the horn button is 6 months too early for a July built car. The 350 was removed from the button in January, when the 396 was released. The OP would need to verify the location of the speedo cable thru the firewall to be more certain it's an SS with a Muncie trans. He, also, claims there are no numbers on the block... rebuilt and decked that early in it's life, or a 327 in hiding ? Missing the POP and the stamp ink blurred from moisture adds to the mystique.

No, Gold. On other forums, others have seen this hue on their floors too. I didn't see any mention of this in the research sections.

I am restoring my '67 LOS Camaro and had to replace the trunk floor and a rear footwell due to rust and old crash damage. In cleaning the rest of the floor, I find it seems to be painted a blue tint color. I'd like to paint the replacement parts to match, rather than paint it all black. Looking for information about this paint and if it is available.
Thanks

Restoration / Re: Sheet Metal and Frame Rust removal

If you have the ability/availability to sand blast, I would choose that over a chemical that you may not get completely removed/neutralized.

I followed your picture trail and MAN that is a beautiful car  8)  I'm glad to see you kept it and are bringing it back to life.  My 67 isn't quite that bad and is a driver right now, but needs restoration.
I have a 67 GTO that was in the same shape and was just a rolling shell. I've been collecting parts to restore it and will be putting the body on a rotisserie this winter to replace the entire floor from the firewall to the bumper, including the tail panel... :o Then it will be set on the new frame I bought in OK and brought back.
Keep up the good work and get it on the road soon. Good luck with the carb adjustment.

1967 - Orphans / Re: 7L156152 - Protect-O-Plate

Am I reading this right  ????  The guy in IA paid over $71 for it and sold it to Kurt for $7.00    ??? :o

Cool, thanks. The swap to the 4 speed got waylaid by a 67 GTO basket case anyway, so the info is still timely..... ;D

I dug this back up to ask a question too. My 67 has a floor shifted PG w/console now. Is the factory hole for the pg shifter in the same/correct location for a Hurst comp plus shifter when I make the change over ?
Thanks

Decoding/Numbers / Stamped code on trunk lid
« on: November 09, 2008, 02:25:25 AM »
I am sure I saw a topic on how to decode this on here a while back, but I can't find it again.
Also, is there a description/pictures of the different styles by year to better identify the lid ?
thanks........ ;)

General Discussion / Re: 67 RS Grill..??
« on: November 01, 2008, 12:11:07 AM »

...that is a surprise, ...but I also think I can understand (I get some crazy thoughts myself sometimes, ...I just don't want to look back and regret it though...).
Did yours go to a 'good home'? ...hopefully we'll still see it around...

Kevin,
When I sold the car I thought it was going to a good home and be left just like it was. I think I was wrong. Darn!

It's just a car, right?

Rick H.

No. If the person you sold it to mislead you to believe that, I know how you feel.
I have been considering selling my documented 70 Chevelle ss lately to fund my 67 Camaros restoration. The 70 is just a shell too and I don't see it getting restored anytime soon either. I waited 23 years for that car and KNOW I will regret selling it, if I did.
Wish I was in a position to buy your grill assembly. I have an "original GM" in it now. Must be a 68 too ???

Mild Modifications / Re: Clutch Return Spring
« on: September 02, 2008, 11:17:57 PM »
In the past, if the header tube was in line with the spring, I just put a stainless hose clamp around the tube and attached the spring to it. Course I never had ceramic coated headers that I didn't want to scratch either.... ;)
