No problem--the car's already got console gauges.  Thanks!

Restoration / Best way to preserve the build sheet?
« on: September 22, 2006, 07:11:28 AM »

Hi,

I've had my '68 since high school, and found the build sheet above the gas tank right after I got it.  Being a dumb high school kid, I threw it in a zip lock bag.  It's still there today.  Does anybody have any recomendations on the best way to store and preserve the sheet?  Something tells me a zip lock in the bottom drawer of my tool chest isn't what the Smithsonian would do!

Thanks,

OCB

Mild Modifications / Retrofitting Tic-Toc-Tach into a std coupe?
« on: September 22, 2006, 01:25:57 AM »

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody on the board has put a repro tic-toc-tach in where the fuel gauge is?  I thought I remembered reading in the catalogs that this was possible, but I'd like to know for sure before I start.  Also, any quality issues with these reproduction tachs?

Thanks,

OCB

When I bought my Camaro, it had ET Fueler mags on it, and the 14X7's cleared my front calipers.  You should be able to find them at the swap meet (mine were the universal kind, with the little inserts in the oval to make it fit chevy), or you can get them new from team 3 wheels.

Mild Modifications / Re: Replace Powerglide with a 4 speed Muncie

I know it's probably not at the top of your list, but if you get a chance could you take some pictures and/or describe how the process went?  I've got a '68 with a powerglide, and I've contemplated the same swap many times.

Thanks, and sorry I didn't have any advice to offer.

Maintenance / How to track down electrical draw?
« on: September 21, 2006, 01:22:08 AM »

Hi,

My battery goes dead after 2-3 days of sitting.  The battery is new, alternator charges, and now I'm not sure how to start tracking down this thing?  I know it's probably simple, but is there some way to do it methodically and logically?
Thanks,

ocb
