General Discussion / WATER PUMP RETROFIT
« on: September 28, 2007, 01:00:05 AM »
Hello, I have a 1967 SS/RS Camaro with the 350 engine. I need to replace the water pump, and I have a GM Performance water pump (Corvette Short Style) that I recently purchased. The pump has the larger hub with the 3/4 pilot. Does anyone know I will run into any alignment (or other) issues if I use this pump with a Corvette water pump pulley?

Thanks...Bill

General Discussion / Re: 67 CAMARO 4 PISTON CALIPERS

Thanks for your response. To get the best longevity and performance, is it best to sleeve and use the regular pistons and seals or to sleeve and convert to "O" ring type seals and corresponding pistons?

General Discussion / 67 CAMARO 4 PISTON CALIPERS
« on: June 23, 2007, 02:08:19 AM »
Hello, I own a 67 Camaro SS/RS that is equiped with factory disk brakes. I have just purchased the vehicle and have found that both front calipers are leaking. Is this a common problem with these 4 piston calipers? If so, what is the best way to cure the problem? Is the use of stainless sleeves and different pistons and seals the best remedy? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...Bill

Ed, thanks for your response. I hope to inspect the car within in the next week and a half, and I will take a pic of the trim tag and post it. Aside from checking drivetrain codes, is there anything else that I should look for?

Thanks...Bill

I understand that the Norwood plant began using the X33 and X77 codes on Z28'x begining the 3rd week of December in the model year run. On which month did the 1969 model year run  begin and when did it end? The reason I ask is that I want to confirm the athenticiy of a Z28 that I am considering which is coded X33 and has a build date of the 3rd week of Aug.

Thanks
