My car is an O1B and it has the two piece line.  The picture Jonesy posted at the top is from my car.  The plastic line was cut at the guage and replaced with a one piece copper line by the previous owner.

The build date on my car is 01B (2nd week of January 67).  The date code on my M/C is 341 which I think is December 7, 66.  That would be reasonable for my car.  I do not know if the MC is original but I suspect it is.  I have receipts for the work done on my car by the previous owner dating back to 1975.  I suppose the M/C could have been replaced prior to 1975 but that doesn't seem realistic since at most it would have been 8 years old and they rarely go bad.

I think you may be right about the power drum cars.  The date code on my MC is 341 which I think is December 7 1966.  My car is an O1B (2nd week of January 67) which sounds about right.

I have a post in the originality section about the master cylinder on my 67 RS/SS 350.  The casting number is 5460465 and the stamp is BS which is suppose to be for a 67 Firebird.  I know of another 67 Camaro with the same M/C casting number and stamp.  Both mine and that car are power drum.  I have no idea if mine is original or not.  I have not checked the date codes on mine.  Was this casting number used at the factory in 67?  My car is an 01B.

What casting numbers were used on the master cylinder of a 67 with power drum brakes?  Mine is 5460465 and has a BS stamp.  I think this decodes to a 67 Firebird with power drum brakes but I know of another 67 Camaro with the same casting number and stamp.  Did they use this casting number on both Camaros and Firebirds?


Restoration / Radius Rod Torque Specs

Does anyone have the torque specs for the radius rod bolts and bracket.  I have looked everywhere. I even have the Dealer Service Technical Bulletin 67-T-30 for "Radius Rod Installation" (Thanks Daniel). It lists all the parts and describes the installation but doesn't give any torque specs. If no one has this, I guess I will torque it to 50 ft lbs; the same as the rear spring shackles. I have torqued the bolt and nuts for the mounting plate to 25 ft lbs; the same as the bracket for the leaf spring perch. Does that sound reasonable?

I did a seach but can't seem to find much information on what hubcaps were available for a non-disc brake 67 RS/SS350.  I know the dog dish caps on painted wheels were available but what about the simulated wire wheel hubcaps?

The Cowl tag code for an RS is 3L (RPO Z22, Rally Sport Equipment) it should be on the third liine.  Look to see if you have the wires for the backup lights.  They would have gone through the trunk floor just above where the lights should be.  If it was an RS, these wires may have been cut and covered with tape.

I just bought polyurethane bushings for mine from Energy Suspension.  You can find them using Google.  The part number is 3.7115.  $13.00; very reasonable.
