Thank you Ed.  Sorry for confusion.  I couldn't figure out a way to post all of the pictures at the same time.  I won't do it again.  The "pumpkin casting date is H296 and the number 3894860 too.  Thank you for your help!

I put a posting on a few days ago and now have the pictures to help the Experts at CRG help me understand if I do own a real 1967 RS/SS.
Pic. # 3 is the numbers stamped on th front body under the cowl panel.  Pic # 5 is the VIN,  Pic. #6 is the stamp on the top of the Transmission, Pic # 7 is the side of the transmission ( Is it a M-20 or M-21??).  Pic # 8is the tag bolted to the transmission ( what does it mean?)  Pic. # 10 is the front pad of the motor, and Pic. # 12 is the rear of the motor, The cast date on the motor is H186 as shown in Pic. 13. Picture 15 is the axle tube Is it a Posi?    It is a 12 bolt and has center cast numbers of H296 and 3894860.  What is the gear ratio?  Is this a rare car or fairly common??  Thank you for all of your help!

Decoding/Numbers / Newbie needs help Do I have a real RS/SS
« on: November 24, 2006, 06:40:20 AM »
In feb 2004 I bought a 1967 camaro disassembled with alot of believed to be original parts.  The cowl tag reads as follows.

09B                               L101
67-12437  LOS 586
742-Z                R-2
2LG  3SL
5Y                                               The VIN tag says 124377L102007  The front pad on the motor block is L102007 VO829 MS  Rear is 13 GM 3892657 The 4 spd transmission also has L 102007 stamped as well as other numbers.  I am not sure if it is a m20 or M21?  The cowl tag does not have 4P indicating SS 350.  It has a 12 bolt rear end with multi leaf springs and I have not found any numbers on the axle hosing.  I saw a note on CRG that states early 1967  norwood camaros may not have had the 4P   I have the counsel with gauges and original tach too.  Under the cowl panel on the body is also stamped L102007.  Is this the 2007th camaro?  I am the third owner as it sat for 18 years before I got it.  Is this a eeal RS/SS??  Thanks all for your help.
