Originality / Re: Help with Z/28 proof?
« on: October 25, 2017, 08:26:41 PM »
Here in Maryland, about twelve years ago, I was able to a title file with all the personal info "blacked out". I was careful to be real nice to the MVA personnel as they seemed annoyed and confused by anything that didn't have a 17 digit VIN.

Any possibility of dealers replacing stolen wheels with service replacements on new cars? Or service departments "borrowing" a wheel and replacing with a service wheel?

Do you know what dealer in MD sold it? Do you have contact with the guy you got it from?

Thanks Kurt and Doug!
I keep waiting to hear that the forum is kept running by a 20 year timer that ran out at the end of September and it took Kurt and Doug a week and a half to rewind it.  :)
(as if it were that simple)

6-cylinder Camaros / Re: 67 Camaro 6 cyl 4 speed?

Sadly, you're probably right. Only because they may know better than to make a Z28 out of it.

Says 4 speed with console. Sounds fun but looks like a project.

I was gonna guess Pontiac 421.
Exciting to hear about this build Darrell. Is that a 12D?

Bill, I'm using the KG4515 and KG5521 on an unrestored 69 small block SS car with old original springs. I cannot say how they compare to originals but they do seem more subtle than the Bilsteins (which I love on the 68) FWIW.

I have Bilstein on the 68 and the ride is great, sporty.
I have KYB on the 69 with original springs and they ride real nice and smooth.

My 12B Norwood 69 SS. Looks like the Caplug type. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. Now, if I go back to inquire about it I will know what to look for.

Thanks.
The reason I'm asking is I recently got some parts off a 67 that has the 6K tach and now I'm curious if it was an original. I don't think its a special car regardless.

I seem to remember ordering some about ten years ago and it was pretty decent. You may have to disassemble the connector to slide it on though.

Does anyone know if there is an obvious difference between an original and reproduction tachometer for a 67? 6K redline in particular.
Thanks.
