If your looking for a bigger copy of the pace car photo, There is about a 2/3 page copy in the article in the current (November) Muscle Car Review

Tom

I'm looking for vintage pictures of the car. I can see the real car anytime. The owner (Terry) is a good friend of mine. That picture in the flier that Bigblockpace posted on the first page is a vintage picture we don't have, but would like to. We are still trying to gather more information on the car.

Thanks Mike

Hey Mike!!

Are you still out there???  I would love to see that data I requested!

I'm here. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. You wanted a picture of the trim tag, right?
I just got off the phone with Terry and he was wondering if you happen to find another one of the can-am fliers?
Is that a scan of the flier that you posted or is that a picture of it? Does the flier look better in person then the picture you posted? What we want to know is if you can make out what it had for rims. Also what it said on the door. We are willing to pay for the flier if you or anyone may have an extra one. I lost your e-mail so if you could e-mail me at Mr12771@aol.com and let me know what pictures you want to see.

Thanks Mike

Good News, Big Block Pace!

The Cherokee can be bought.
Bad news, lots and lots of MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hurry up and buy the Cherokee so the owner can buy my car ;D

Hi Chris
I'm not to sure if he would sell it just yet. We have been telling him to hold on to it for a little longer. I think the more the car gets out the better the offers to buy will be. I knew they(Chris and Terry) were going to ask you to buy your car. You should have seen them all weekend, like two little boys looking for that girl. They just wanted to see your car after I told them you were going to be there. They love them Zs

I have a lot of pictures of the Cherokee along with most of it's history from the 1967 Can Am race at Road America to today. We know all the owners and have talked to all of them. The guy that owns the car now is a good friend of mine. I've asked around on this site before (last year) but there was never much response about it. Thats the strange thing not many people want to talk about it or maybe they just don't know much about it. Where did you find that Can AM flier? If you own it are you willing to sell it? I see you must have been at the SCR-10. I was there with my wife and the owner of the Cherokee.

Mike

This is how the car was found about two years ago.

I know who you're talking about. I never met him but he rents a spot from a body shop a friend owns,  Rods Auto Body. He does a lot of rims with that chrome paint. I've never seen a finished one but from what I hear it looks great. He's about four blocks from my shop. For $100 I think you can get the real thing for that. I have a friend that sends his stuff down south to a place with a 14 day turn-around. They do great work for a good price. I'll have to get that number from him.

Are you taking your car out to Elkhorn? We will be taking our white convertible, it's the 67 on the homepage right now. Maybe we'll see you out there.

Dave you can't leave out DeRango"s,  Infuison's , and Dino's. The wife and I just went to Infuison's tonight.

Who gave you that price for the chrome? I have two lids I would like to have chromed also. Maybe we can get them all done for a better price. What do you think?

Also are you going to the Elkhorn car show swap meet this weekend?

Chris

Hi Chris nice to meet you too. Sorry we had to leave so soon, we had a six and a half hour drive and I just wanted to get home.  When did the 67 Z get there? I didn't get to see it. Oh Man. There's always next year. That was my first and will not be my last Super car Reunion.

My friends were waiting to see your car all day. Yeah that Cherokee was getting a lot of looks and a lot of people talking.

My wife and I will be there Friday and Saturday. We're not going to bring a car, just going to check it out for the first time. Some friends of ours are showing their car inside a 1967 Mitchell/ Piggins design Camaro, Or know as the Cherokee Camaro. We'll look for your car Chris.

Originality / 67 with A/C and gauges
« on: July 08, 2007, 10:29:22 PM »
I thought I read somewhere on here that you could not get the gauge package when you had a/c. Of course I can't find it anywhere so I thought I would ask and see what happens. What do you guys have to say?

Thank you
Mike

Decoding/Numbers / Re: 1967 11B with a 4N ?
« on: June 29, 2007, 03:32:35 AM »
I've been talking to the person selling the car for her uncle. She told me that her uncle bought the car three years ago and it was sold to him as a BB car. They had someone decode the tag and he told them everything looks good so he bought it. He put some more money into it and now wanted to get rid of it. I had asked about the tag and the early date. First she sent me a link to this site that talked about date codes and told me that B was Feburary so the car was built after January. After I explained about date code on parts and date codes on trim tags with links to this site. She said the same as everyone else. "that in the camaro white book it said that the ss396 came out in November" so being a 11B it must be good. So once again I sent her links to this site to show her the right and wrong. I haven't heard anything back from them. Needless to say they got a big eye opener about the car they thought was an orginal big block car.
I'm sure most people will think that they knew all along and are just tring to screw someone. It just seems anytime you see a fake tag everyone thinks that the owner of that car is the scam artist. Fake tags have been around for a long time, and I'm sure there is a lot of cars out there people own that don't know that it's a fake car.
