Restoration / Re: Paint manuracture suggestions

Thanks for replying, guys I appreciate the input.

I will get in touch with both paint manufacturers to get some small quantities to shoot some test panels.  I imagine that the quality/color of paint will be impacted because the shop that I intend to use is a very low VOC, restricted shop.  Any one wish to comment on low VOC paint?

Thanks again...

Restoration / Paint manuracture suggestions

Hi,

I posted this question in the old forum just before it ran in to problems.  I did get one response to the following question:

I am in the process of getting my car painted, the original color was British Green (ZZ).  I am looking for recomendations for paint maufactures i.e. DuPont, Glasruit, House Of Color, etc. which matches the original color as close as possible if not exactly.  A paint code/part number and manufacturer would surely help me in this search.

The one response I did get on the old forum suggested Glasruit.  When I went to thier site however, I did not find any listing for British Green and they suggested that I contact a "Local representitive". :(

Please help if you can, and thanks for your answers in advance!  ;D

Hi,

I orginally was Jon68z, then lost my info and became JonB.  Now I'm back to Jon68z.  I really like the new forum.  I just hope that the last forum was backed up somewhere.  There was a lot of great info on there that could have made a "Killer FAQ".

Anyways, I'm really glad the forum is back up!

Hi,

You may want to give the guy's at Campbell Auto Restoration a call.  They are located in the south bay in Campbell Calif.  There number is (408) 371-5522, They are not normally open on the weekends but if you try after say 9:30 someone just might pickup the phone.  They are experts in the automotive restoration business and certainly know thier stuff when it comes to first, second, third and fourth gens.  With any first gen car, especially a convertable, you deffinetly want to get it checked out for rust.  Ask for Tom or Mark.

Good Luck!
