@BC Miller, It's a 350, powerglide car.  75,000 miles, All numbers matching, 95% original paint.  White with red interior.  I have the POP, and other documentation, but no window sticker.  3rd owner.  Second owner bought it from the estate of a former North Island Coronado Naval Station Commander.  Best part, it's a twin to my 68 SS/RS.  Same color, four speed car.

Is there any way to identify a zone car?  I have a 67 SS/RS convertible.  I was talking with Scott Settlermire and he touught it might be a zone car because of some of the options, and build date (11/66).  A/C in a convertible, headrests, shoulder harness, power windows, fold down rear seat, AM/FM, tilt, deluxe interior.  11/66 build date.  There's some chalk marks around the trim tag that I've never seen on other cars.  It was sold new at Courtesy Chevrolet, San Diego.  Just a few blocks from the zone office

When i worked at fuel terminals I spoke to an engineer about stabilizers.  His comment was that they stabilize the additives not the fuel.  All street legal fuel is additized with intake valve detergent by law.  Racing fuel isn't.  He recommended that the last tank be non-taxed racing fuel because it has no ethanol or additives.

I think the total is 2400 cars with headrests in 67 and again in 68.  Somehow I got lucky and have a 67 and 68, each with headrests

I compared the Coker tire on a friends 68 SS/RS to the original redline spare in my 68.  The location of the redline is different, it's closer to the rim, or in other words it has a smaller diameter.  It just never looked right to us so we measured them and they are different.  My understanding is that the Coker mold is from around 1971, after the location of the redline was changed.

Paid $11,500 in 2000 for a 67 SS/RS convertible survivor, 68 k miles, POP, original paint, white w/red deluxe interior, headrests, shoulder harness, tilt, pw, A/C, fold down rear seat, mag wheel covers, AM-FM, auto, 350, front and rear guards. San Diego car.  Second owner sold it because the kids were fighting over it in her will.

a near twin to the 58 k mile 68 SS/RS convertible, 4 speed, tilt, gauges, white w/red standard, console 8-track, headrests, window sticker, original invoice.  $3200 in 82.  Found the original redline spare in the trunk with the boot.
Both are matching numbers, original shocks, 68 has a new clutch, exhaust, and a repaint in 78. Wisconsin car. Saw it at Iola in the rain.  Second owners sold it because they just had their 3rd kid.

I have a Feb 68 build SS/RS and it has them called out on the window sticker.  In the trunk was an original tire and it's a Firestone F70 14 redline

A friend and I spent several Pomona's looking for the same right rear.  He had a set with one in his hand for $375.  the only one with opened packaging was the RR.  He thought it may be used so he put it down.  This spring he found a set of the new repo's at the Jefferson Swap meet and he said they were perfect.  He bought both sets the vendor had, went home and finished his 69 Pace Car.  According to him they look perfect.

Will it really be spring by then?  I assume you're going to spring Jefferson?  I Remember waking up to snow there on May 1 about 15 years ago.  We've been going there for almost 30 years.  My friends 69 z is the featured car this year.  I'm coming in from San Diego to help him load and do a bit of shopping. 

What 12 bolt are you looking for?  He has mostly 69 stuff.

While I'm not an expert, I did install an 88 TPI in my S10.  A blast to drive.  I experienced a hard start hot problem for years and couldn't figure it out.  It started fine cold but hot it would act a bit like you indicated.

First off clean the throttle body, IAC motor pintle, EGR.  THen use some of the expensive GM fuel injection cleaner in your tank(about $20/quart, but well worth it).

This engine uses a 9th injector for cold starts.  It's not controlled by the computer, it has it's own thermostat.  If it is bad it will flood the engine on hot starts.  There is no copmputer monitoring of this so no codes may set.  The easy way to test this is to warm up the engine, shut it off, disconnect the 8 injectors.  With a fuel pressure guage on the schrader valve turn the ignition on.  If the fuel pressure drops it's likely the cold start injector.  In 89 they went to a computer controlled cold start with the 8 injectors.

Don't be afraid of the TPI engine.  Most problems are NOT computer related, but sensor related.  My S10 was the funnest vehicle I ever had for every day driving.  I surprised many 5.0 Mustnags

I agree with Buds 396.  I saw the red car yesterday at the LA Autoshow and it does have an attitude.  It's much better in person than in the pics.
