Sam, I went through that too. The labeling on the packaging is not correct. The correct PUI set is the OEM style and it includes the correct outers with round bead and fuzzies and the inners with the flat bead and rubber strip.

Thanks a million for the pics JohnZ. One last question on these. My door outers stop at the front of the door about an inch and a half. Is that correct?

I am just now putting my car back together after a long time in paint jail. I am needing more info of the outer rubber ends of the original window felts to try and make my PUI's look right. Looks like the rubber is slightly trimmed at an angle on these. John Z and or Dave if you could show more pics from the side or top view I would be most appreciative. I still have not found an original reference car around me to look at.

Thanks for the info. I think it is pretty conclusive now.

Thanks Jerry. Your solution is the ideal, but I really don't want to buy and especially have to pay shipping on a used windshield. I just wanted to see if anyone had an original that was etched on the outside read from the outside. The CRG report only shows one 69 windshield and it shows to be etched on the outside and read from the inside. I guess to be safe I will go with that, since the concensus shows that is the normative practice.

I am researching the original glass dated etchings.  My car is a 11C 68 Norwood built car. I need input on the location of the front windshield etching and whether it was on the outside read from the inside or read from the outside. I have read the CRG glass report and would like to see other examples of how it was done. Also was the original clear windshield all clear or was there a tint at the top?

Thanks JohnZ. Looks like I don't need to work too hard to make it look right.

Thanks Dave. I looked at a set of the PUI OE style fuzzies yesterday and the ends of the outside round stainless pieces look cut off squared. Do the originals have a tapered look to them? Does anyone have a picture of the originals to show the ends?

I need opinions on which outer window felts to use on a 69 Coupe. I don't have any originals to compare to so which brands fit best and look similar to the originals? I see there are repro felt type and also rubber ones available.  I know the orignals were felts but what should I do? The car is not really going to be seeing much driving or weather and is completing a frame off resto. I mainly want it to look good without a lot of fitment issues.

Thanks for the info Steve. Glad I won't have to go back and redo the stripes!

Steve, what was the time frame the stripe extended lower? I noticed this on several pictures after I recently repainted mine as well and thought this was just done wrong. My car is a 11C of 68 Norwood built car.

Originality / Re: 69 Woodgrain horn shroud

William, is the GM part number perhaps different from the number molded into the back of the horn shroud? The shroud that came with my car has the #3939760 on it and I have heard back from a couple of other guys with original cars that this is also on theirs.
You mentioned last known GM number, was there maybe a revision number on these? What is the date for the info you have?

Thanks William, I should have said black. Do you know what the 760 is?

What is the correct part or stamping number for the 69 Camaro woodgrain horn shroud? Is it also shared with any of the other Chevy models that year? I have seen both #3972735 and 3939760 listed as correct on Ebay and wondering which one is or if both could work for Camaro. I know on the standard black ones the grain is different between the Camaro and Chevelle The woodgrain ones look similar to me though not having seen them both in person.

Originality / 69 Deluxe interior window cranks

What is the correct color for the 69 deluxe interior window crank knobs? I have been told they should be black. I have seen both clear and black. The interior is black in color.
