 Kurt my error on wording, the site says "mid-69 production"  so that was my question, what is considered "mid production" in the discussion of blocks and when they were introduced? If production began in late August of 68, is my Oct built car considered 'mid production'?  Im just curious if there are actual dates of these various blocks coming online for the Camaros?
 My old original engine is under plastic on a pallet and is being replaced with an LS1 by the guy that bought the car from us. He's keeping the old engine for sure.

I think the CRG comment on the ...388 block as beginning 'mid season' could be slightly off. My 10d build 69 LA car has the original ...388 block. Over the years I've seen many many of the LM1's like mine with the ...388 block as well as many of the Pace cars and replicas and standard Camaros as well. Mine was a 4 bolt main too. I guess I'm not sure what the definition of 'mid season' is? It seems it was a very strong block casting during it's lifetime.

 Since it's a 1969 (not 67), the key is in the column. There is also a flasher tube type unit that plugs in the fuse box as well. Sounds like a ground issue somewhere. Those are the most common cause of weird issues like you are seeing. Check ground straps from block to firewall. Check the ground pigtail from battery to fender, remove, sand, use star washer and clean the pigtail end too. Another ground strap from frame to firewall as well. Those are all things you can do easily. Then if it persists you have issues in boogered up wiring somewhere. :)

Rear white strips go under the spoiler on the trunk lid, that's a no-no.  Very liberal PTB stamps, sloppy work. 11A build date with GM door decal is wrong. Why no pics of the engine stampings? hmmm

 Yes just last night he sent me a few but while the numbers were fully in one pic, the clarity was not as great as I hoped. He is going to try a different color chalk and mess with it again. :)

Dash VIN

 Last night I received some great pics from the guy that bought our 69 RS a few years ago. He is putting in an LS1, so he pulled the original engine out. This engine is Oct 68 build in Los Angeles and did NOT have a partial VIN on the pad behind the alternator. When I owned it, I tried looking by the oil filter with mirrors and bright lights and I thought I saw numbers in the rough cast area but it was not 'proof' positive the engine was original to my car. Well my buyer Greg got some yellow chalk out and now we know this is the original engine block to an LM1  350 . The VIN is L505849  and now here are the pics of the rough cast area by the filter.  Kurt S can add this info. and pics to his records now.

 Im not sure if this helps since I dont own it anymore, but this was the tray in my LOS 10c of 1968 built 69RS  I sanded and painted it with POR black but I dont have pics of it all cleaned up, just this one photo before I detailed it. Fun topic to follow. :)

 Just an FYI  my LOS Oct 68 built 69 LM1 had this marking behind the heater/ac suitcase. I removed the inner half since the exhaust manifold had lifted up and busted it , so I replaced it and found these marks. I did not remove the outer half so the numbers are not completely visible. Any guesses as to what the numbers are and their meaning? My VIN is L505849 . Here is trim tag and firewall numbers.

For discussion, my 10D Los car is 505849 partial VIN  and my trim tag is 132383  so while the VIN's are only 436 apart, the trim tags are 6,710 apart . It just seems odd to me that there is that wide a difference in VIN and trim tag numbers for the same week of 10D.  Just something to think about... maybe Mark or Kurt can help explain those spreads?  :)
