Do you know the capacity of the system?  Owner's manual doesn't indicate it.

I added power steering to my `69 Z28. I'm reading mixed opinions as to use regular power steering fluid or ATF fluid. Which is preferred and what is the capacity. This is a unit sold by one of the reproduction suppliers and fit as OEM without issues

General Discussion / M22 vin number
« on: October 07, 2023, 03:43:57 AM »
Should a M22 trans in a 69 Z28 have a vin number on it? If so, where do I look? The date code is there and corresponds with production. If no vin number does it indicate replacement trans?

General Discussion / M22 in a Z28
« on: October 02, 2023, 01:31:23 AM »
Can someone tell me if the '69 Z28 ever had the M22 transmission as an option. I'm new to Camaro's and discovered my recently purchased Z28 has one. The car was a LA build in early March 1969. It has been verified as a original real Z

General Discussion / In line fuel filter 69 Z28

Was there ever a in line fuel filter on the '69 Z28?  Just acquired my first Z and surprised that I can find no evidence that one never existed on the car. I am putting on a new gas tank and rebuilt the Holley. Car will not be judged, so I am considering adding one in to the new fuel line.

General Discussion / Re: 110 octane fuel
« on: May 07, 2023, 06:53:22 PM »
Thanks for all the replies. 93 octane readily available here in Western PA. I'm just trying to eliminate the ethanol which is hard on carb gaskets. For as little as we usually run these toys, I'm OK with the $7.00 per gallon charge for aviation fuel which is rated at 100 octane and skip the ethanol.

My holley carb needs rebuilt. I suspect it is the ethanol that took it's toll on the gaskets. Part of the reason I want to eliminate it.

Recently acquired a '69 Z28 with the original engine. Considering running VP 110 octane or also have access to 100 octane aviation at my local airport. Any thoughts on this appreciated as well as changes I need to make to timing? I believe the car has been running on 93 pump Sunoco.

Parking and headlamps work. I think these idiot light don't work when you have a console car with actual gauges. High beam blue light works.

Have a recently purchased '69 Z28 that has the factory console and gauges. Console gauges work as they should. However when I turn the ignition switch on, the gen, temp, fuel lights etc. don't light up. Are they supposed to with the factory console/gauge option?? If so, what should I be looking for to cure the problem. Just put new carrier surround and lens in for both the tach and speedo. They didn't work prior to the new parts either.

What are the back space and bolt pattern measurements for a '69 Z28 15x7" wheel?

I need a rally wheel for my trunk. Just want to check if I need a 5X 4.75 bolt  and 4.5" back space. Also a recommended seller. Just want a new one in the trunk of a driver that will not see any judging. I do know it needs to be 15X7.
