General Discussion / 1969 RS Wheel Well Trim
« on: January 09, 2022, 12:44:15 AM »
I have a nice set of repop trims that I need to get put on my 69 RS.
I searched and can't find details on where to place the rears. It looks like all the way to the bottom of the rear lip and let it fall where it falls in the front (talking rears here).

The other thing I can't figure out is what screw is correct for the rears and the two holes in the fronts. Between two parts houses and what came with the trim, I have 3 sizes of screws.
7/16" Head
9/32" Head
5/16" Head

All the same shaft diameter and all close to the same length.
Which ones are correct?

Any tips or tricks to putting these on a car that has never had them?
Drilling holes for the rears doesn't really excite me and I need to be careful of the paint, and advice would be appreciated.

Restoration / Re: 1969 Horns - Need Quality replacements
« on: June 13, 2021, 02:32:29 PM »
The previous owner put some cheap ones on it, they work, but they look bad.

Is there anything even decent that I can use?

I was considering buy the OER universals, at least then I could clock them correctly. Not ideal though.

Restoration / 1969 Horns - Need Quality replacements
« on: June 13, 2021, 12:53:31 PM »
I did some searching here and other sites and saw the OER horns for 69 are good replacements.
I ordered a pair and one is "clocked" incorrectly, it looks completely wrong and, since the brackets are welded, I am wondering if there is a way to rotate the horn on the bracket so it looks correct?

I am also ready to return these and hunt for something better, any suggestions?

General Discussion / Blue Monkey Performance Engines?
« on: January 30, 2021, 11:33:45 PM »
I have been lurking here for a while and finally decided to register, lots of great info here and I hope to contribute.

I am possibly shopping for a new engine for my 396 and came across Blue Monkey Performance, is anyone familiar with them or bought from them?

https://bluemonkeyperformance.com/index.html#

They have a few "built to order" motors on Ebay

If anyone has a good source for a mild 396 build I am open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance!
